This is a :30 concept ad I made, with Matchbox cars, for a custom car shop called Fat Rat.
Shot with the HVX in 1080p24 and edited in a 480p timeline for digitally zooming and panning.

The cars have hair and dust all over them, and the end title is kinda ratty (no pun intended), but besides that I'd love feedback before I show the owner and start planning the real thing!
(Also, if anyone has any ideas on building a platform to spin real cars like this, please share!)

Thanks everyone!

If you can get to SoCal, try southbay studios, they specialize in car work and have an amazing turntable built into one of the stage floors. I shot a Yamaha Motorcycle commercial there a few years ago, great facility and great folks.

I agree, that was hot. -- I'm not sure I'm sold on the title at the end of the clip. It seems to contrast the glammer of the cars. My guess is that the company has had that design and uses it for everything already... in which case, disregard what I have said.

Otherwise, this rocks man!!

That was well done. A lot of work for a concept to sell the commercial. However, if you need to break in, you need to break in. I wish you the best of luck. Good job!

Thanks everyone! I got the gig! Only problem is, we couldn't figure out how to make real cars spin. There's not a lot of room in the budget to build something or travel far (to a place with a showroom for example). But in the meantime, we came up with a different idea, so I'm getting paid, and that makes me happy.

And yeah, the end title will be replaced by their logo.

Any decent steel fabricator will build you a simple turntable - shouldn't cost much.
My nephew built one in a day.
