So I just got my Sgpro rev.2 from wayne and I'm totally stoked!
Due to bad weather and only a few hours with light outside I only got the
chance to film very interesting objects like chairs and ashtrays outside on my porch.
The adapter was easy to set up, not much trail and error, though I now see that I should
have zoomed in a little bit more with the dvx, it's at Z73 now, Z74 should do the trick :) I'm also very happy with how it handles light, it has less light loss than I would expect.
I have also started the Church of Wayne-Kinneytology in Norway so we can honour the man who
delivered this product, I would have paid double the price if that was the issue. I only got to test
out my Canon EOS usm 50mm lens which is at wide open all the time at f1.4, which gives a very shallow focus
making focus a tricky thing when doing all handheld(forgot my tripod somwhere).
The Sgpro made me forget about getting a new camera, and I love my DVX like never before
now. I made a large file and a small file, have a look for yourself. And there is no CC, only flipped the image and
added transitions in premiere, format is quicktime h.264. Shutter speeds at 1/60 and 1/120.

Big file, 720x576, 80mb:

Small file, 400x300, 19mb:

WOW! What did you use more than the dvx itself? Im going to buy a dv100a but i wonder what you buyed more to get a great movie like that?

Looks good, have you tried with the other lens mounts yet? Also, which shots were at 120 shutter? Would be nice to test how high you can get the shutter speed without grain.

Most of the shots before the shot of the potty-plant on the wall and the wall-lamp, are 1/120.
Haven't tried the other lens mounts yet, it got dark outside pretty quick, but
I'll test the pentax-k mount tomorrow(acutally today) when the light comes out, and I will be able to crank
up the shutter speed :)

Here is also a clip of two shots from yesterday before I went to bed. This was before I ducktaped and
locked the focus and zoom down so it got messed up a bit
causing some vignetting, but I just wanted to show that the adapter works well under low light conditions.
Canon EOS 50mm lense used at f 1.4, shutter 1/60 in both shots.

Just tested my Pentax-k mount with a Soligor zoom 70-150mm lense @ f 3.5 , old one which I got from my father, turns out the fricken thing has back-focus, sweet.
Here are some grabs, looks a little grainy due to low light, but sharp :)

Wow, these look great, thanks for putting them up. Throws another possibility into the mix for me, I was leaning pretty heavily towards the Brevis, will have to reconsider now perhaps...

sweet. tell me a little more about shutter speeds. All I know about them is what everybody knows (Spielberg upped the shutter speed in Saving Private Ryan to give it that intense look in the first scene). But I obviously don't see that look here. What other looks can be acheived using the shutter?

Oh, and what was that song you used? It really made watching simple objects interesting (like I thought they were going to come alive or something) :)

Hey, with high shutter speeds (above 1/60) the motion will look stroby(like saving private ryan), the higher the speed, meaning that the shutter is open at a shorter period per frame, taking in less light and making the gap between each time the shutter is open longer, the strobier and more chaotic it will look. If you go with a lower shutter speed, like 1/25 or below, each frame will be exposed to light for a longer period and will smear more, making a dreamy effect. Hope that helps a little :) The song used was "Too fragile
to walk on" by the artist: Biosphere(norwegian :)), can be heard in the film
The mothman Prophecies, in the scene where the wife is liying in the hospital bed.
The sgpro really is a great adapter, and the footage gets better and better after more testing.

thanks!

i can get up to 1/250th. but after that the image starts pulsing.

Smettli, the Acromat on the SGrev2 is very powerfull, if i were you i would zoom in a bit more, to get a more "center" patch of the GG image. this way the very slight softening at the edges gets clipped out of thepicture. on my HVX you can Zoom in to Z89 MF20, but the Edges of the GG is at Z74 MF20. I can actually perform short zooms within the adapter itself. but use a smaller patch this way you will have ZERO resolution loss. the SGrev2 is Resolution loss less even in 1080P with the HVX. its every bit as sharp as the stock footage, even on resolution charts, why not use that ability.
