DVX100a - 260 hours.....is it due for a pro. head cleaning?

If they haven't had the heads cleaned yet then yes you should get it cleaned

If you know the guy that you're getting it from... has it had normal or routine maintenence...??? I'm sure it's been cared for... I mean it hasn't been dropped... or dunked in the ocean...???
Chances are that it is good working condition... it should last for quite a few more hours... but...
If it's in your budget... you really should let an authorized service center have a look at it. Maybe not so much the heads... but cleaning the tape path, rollers, guides and such... just making sure that it's within specs... certainly would assure good performance in the long run...
I would... then again I'm just a retired old hippie with everything in working order... (knock on wood)...
