Another pointless montage video.. shot this with the Brevis and a 28mm f/2.8 Nikkor lens while up in Northern California for XMAS - I love the wide angle with the Brevis.. I apologize for some of the shaky cam moves.. Originally I wasn't going to post this because of this.. :violin: On the upside it's getting easier and easier to stare at an upside down image on the HVX LCD but I still need some practice..

Here are some older videos for Brevis-onlookers,

I really wish I could shoot more :Drogar-Mark-10(DBG) :Drogar-Mark-10(DBG) :Drogar-Mark-10(DBG)

very good footage... wow... the brevis produces a great image, kick ass depth of field! I can't wait until dennis releases the flipped component.

I really liked that xmas footage Richard. I am becoming more of a believer in hand held acquisition lately, feels more like you are there, in the moment. Everything has it's place, in context.

lsd.mov, damn nice footage man.

Is their any more information on this flipped component, i didn't realise one was in the works ?
Would make the brevis a must have item for sure :)

The Brevis always looks great, very clean and it looks great in low-light. The bokeh (out of focus light) on the christmas tree lights was actually a bit too 'good', it looked a bit too gaussian... it would be great if it gave you the sharp, round light circles that have 'expensive film production' written all over them. Any way to get this??

very cool I enjoy it.. art.. that's what it is.. it brought a smile to my face.. so for me thats important beyond brevis or not HD or SD is to communicate... to move someone in any possible way
OF course I would love to get a brevis..great shots

thanks for sharing

nice video, that bokeh really kills huh.

but, you might want to put "PG-13" in the title, cause im pretty sure i saw a penis, flopping..

Thanks guys - Noah, I was only using the LCD on the HVX, upside down.. I own the Marshall 7" but its too bulky for run and gun stuff. .

Dennis (Cinevate) has footage of the bokeh/sharp round circles from a test of Cinefuse2, optional diffuser. To get this with CF1 (default), it also may perhaps require a deeper shot, light source beyond the Christmas tree, coupled with a close foreground focus point. The round light circles may also be a hexagonal (or the like), depending on the aperture blades design in the lens used.

Cinefuse3, very soon to be released will also add another great a new look. Perhaps Dennis can chime in and post a few frames from his tests?

You can actually check out some of dennis' CF3 tests on his website, cinevate.com - go the forum section and check out the Brevis35 footage..

HAPPY MO-FO NEW YEAR

I really enjoyed that footage. What transitions did u use and which NLE? The shot from the dogs back POV was funny. Also i thought when u added the black bars it looked great!

matthew, there are several different diffusers that dennis is putting out soon that should hopefully offer different looks for lights in bokeh.

Here's a clip of the XH-A1 with the CINEFUSE 3 prototype imaging element installed. Part of the clip is bare XH-A1, no adapter. Out of focus specular highlights are very filmic, and no halos during rack focus either. It's my favourite of the three so far, and actually much more light efficient than we had projected. The clip is done with natural light from one window.
