Drama-Fest Information

Shoot DVX 24P and get to 16X9 in whatever way you like.

As for web version that's TBA
probably Quicktime 7 (H.264) and in the neighborhood of 480 X 270. BUT be ready for that to change.

No poster required but it will help build hype for your film so it doesn't get too lost in the mix. I'm not sure on the 25p but last time I think I saw 24 and 30. What do you mean by inscription? Do you mean a synopsis (short paragraph of what the movie is about? If so that is similar to the poster idea.
 
How do you officially enter?

Declare that you are entereng and then follow through by uploading a film.

Actually - you can skip the 1st part and just upload a film.

But most folks starte a thread for their film.

So to answer more clearly: there is no official entry form other than the online form you fill out when you upload your film - so no need to pre-enter before that.

16X9
24p prefered, PAL people can speed up 4% to get to 24P just like a movie on PAL TV.
5 min limit with 1 grace minute (use it well if you must)
will probably be quicktime 480 X something and between 40 and 60MB
due 1/31/06
And
must contain a major character named Eric
everything else is TBA and the above is subject to being incorrect or to change
(except for the time limit, Eric thing, and must be shot on DVX or HVX, those are gospel)
 
I think, so far, there has been. Zombie, hero, horror, sci-fi, and now drama fest.

I don't know in what order. Horrofest was the last one before this one.

Just to follow up on Jack's post, you can also use the name Erica or variations in the spelling ... but one of the major characters (if not THE major character, incase there are two at the same level) must be Eric/Erica.

The contests as far as I can recall are the following order:
One Script (everyone had the same script with a few blanks to fill in)
ZombieFest (first MAJOR publicized fest on DVXuser - over 80 entries)
SciFest (over 60 entries)
HeroFest (over 25 entries)
HorrorFest (over 60 entries)
DramaFest

My guess is that if they do another themed fest, they'll likely give in to comedy fest, as that's been a huge request for quite sometime.
 
K, Jack beat me ... I never heard of the Patriotism fest. Sounds interesting to see some of the films, if anyone has links to them.
 
I like the sound of that.

It must have been harsh for the everybody watching the same script get played out over and over though. In the "One Script" fest.
 
Nah, I think there were only about 8+ entries in that one (it was very little known about - I didn't even know about it until the submissions were closed, and just tripped across the thread somehow). Since people could fill in the blanks with their own ideas, it took the same general script & each one had their totally own different take on it, most of which were pretty comical.

That said, yeah, watching too many more than that would be pretty tough to swallow.
 
I think a comedy fest would be fun. I bet there'd be some fantastic entries from this group. :tongue:
 
that's a question only you can answer.
there's no application prior to upload.
So if you can concieve shoot and edit and be ready to upload on 1/31 then have at it.
Your upload is your entry; there's nothing you need to do before hand.
