Hey everybody..

Hope this holiday season finds you all doing well.. I recently set up myspace pages for both our studio and our latest feature film.. fo now we will stick with just the studio page however.

www.myspace.com/rhinostudiosmia

There you will find quite a few of our latest music videos.. all shot on the HVX + PS Technik + Zeiss 35mm lens combo, edited in Final Cut and color graded in Final Touch

I'll post the film page soon, but i was waiting because we have planned to put a myspace exclusive "first 4 minutes" of the movie clip up. When that happens.. I'll be sure to let you know.

Meanwhile give the page a look, send an add request, say hello.. and I hope you enjoy

Were all those videos shot with the HVX/PS Tech combo? They all were very high quality and well put together. Look forward to seeing the movie page. Will it be latin/hip hop influenced?

Hey thanks everyone.. to answer..

All are HVX/PS with the exception of the TUMBE trailer which has some HVX but is mainly DVX with the same adapter. As for TUMBE deff a latin influence and some hip hop.. we wanted to make more thne just an urban hip hop movi.. soemthign that fit in that genre but stood a little taller. I think we came pretty close. I will keep you updated.

Justin: We have chatted before.. The studio is out of Miami, and I know Lee Cipolla from when we wrere both in film school.

Tim:
Trial and error my friend. I did a high quality LAN quicktime 7 compression in compressor and then uploaded that.. (most were atleast 50mb in size) Sometimes I ddi it several times and deleted them when they didn't look quite right till someone there did a compression I liked.

Yes Gary all 720.. we shoot various speeds depending, often creating faster versions of the songs and ahooting them in slomo so in realtime playback it matches up.

Thank you all, and Tim I am flattered.. thanks brother.

As to high rez..

man I would love to.. we have just been swamped. It is so easy to just set a file to upload o myspace video and leave it be while I keep working but with the feature getting finished, several music videos in the pipe and another feature that we are working as production crew on in early January.. I hardly have time to plan for the holidays let alone get a nice high rez compression that I am satisfied with and then upload it. but ultimately that is the goal. There are plans to overhaul the rhino main website so I plan on making that part of the deal. When it happens.. I will let everyone know.

I do Janusz, thank you! The initial look was sort of a Bad Biys vibe but over time it was grown and matured from that.. We have some golor grades that look like Man on Fire, Black Hawk Down and others soo.. it is broad.

Hey thanks Tom.. as to your question that varries greatly. We have a dedicated in house crew of three plus the director, sometimes it is just that. But usually we have a gaffer and atleast a couple PA's there as well. All is based on budget, as is the number of shooting days. Like the Alejandra video was a two day shoot really. 1 1/2 days in New York (only because weather kept us from getting it shot in 1 day) and a half day baxk in Miami. The Gisselle video, 2 days.. one for storyline, one for performance (which was necessary because there was a Pop and a salsa version of the same track, so every setup required twice as many takes) The Wisin and Yandel video was one day.. but it was a 26hour day.. We were paid for 2, just had to do it all at once. Yet the Hasta Quando video was only 1 day.

So it varries from project to project. and especially based on what elements are required to bring it togethere.
