Funny you should ask- I just got done updating my web site, and it now has a tutorial, as well as a photoshop action to correct the aspect ratio :) . You can view the tutorial and download the action here:

http://www.235studios.com/tutorials.html

(My web site is still uploading, so not all of the links are active yet. But they should be active soon- at the very latest, by morning.)

The short / simple answer is that DVCproHD is a squished format- kind of like how widescreen (16:9) was recorded on the DVX100a. When you export a still from FCP it does not export it un-squished, so what you get is the squished still. To correct that just open up the picture in Photoshop, or what ever graphics program you have and strech is back out to 1280x720 or 1920 x 1080 - depending on what you shot in.

sorry for the delay, got much to do on my hands ;)

thanks for the tutorial, here are two stills... still didnt get all the material yet, so the stills arent spectacular...

resolution was 720p and we filmed at 1/25 shutter, therefore the blur... stupid me ;)

are going to shoot a horror short in january, will post lots of stills from that one, cause this one we are prepping really good and i am very optimistic!

ps: i also upped the brightness and contrast a bit, thus the grain... we underexposed a bit too much i think and the cutter didnt have the time to send me color corrected files yet.

its easier to over light the scene then bring the values down. you will wind up with a nice dark, clean image.s

Well I went to upload the files, and it looks like I no longer have the files on my computer- I'm going to have to check and see if I archived them ... I'll keep you posted.
