We all know that the actual lighting on set never is as good as the LCD monitor shows. Has anybody tried turning down the LCD brightness to match the actual lighting? Does this seem like a good idea?

you go into your menu settings and turn down the lcd brightness. the question is, how much do you turn it down for it to show what the actual picture looks like.

What do you use as a reference monitor? A callibrated pc monitor? I'm mostly working for webproductions, it seems like a logical idea to match my LCD screen with my desktop monitor. What do you guys recon?

as for adjusting to your pc monitor, i think the lcd will be pretty accurate without meddling with it. for tv i think i'm going to hook it up to the tv and see if i can adjust it. i'll post when i come to a conclusion.
