P2 Card removal from laptop

How important is it to use the "Safely Remove Hardware" feature on my PC laptop before ejecting the P2 card from PCMCIA slot? Will it damage the card somehow if I don't use it, or do some harm to computer. It adds more steps and time.

I have never done it - 1000 loads later never lost anything

I've never done it either... just don't eject a card while it's actively reading from or writing to it.

When you say you have "never done it"... do you mean you have never ejected a card without using the "Safely Remove Hardware" feature or that you have always ejected without using it?
