This is the 5 out of 10 football games our highschool football team played! this can be seen on our website (www.mdcfilms.com) in both .wmv and .mov (the quicktime is better quality)

Let us know what you think? We tried to go for a film look with the 29.97 frame recording only allowed on the sony dsr-pd170!Also used a sony hvr z1u for 1 game! the second angles.

Check it out

great stuff. especially if someone is willing to pay for it! my only suugestion is a 10 frame cross dissolves to your audio between shots.. and extend certain cheering over over shots.. so when you cut down to the field.. you dont go from screaming fans to a marching band. just cause it happend that way in real life doesnt mean it has to be edited that way. Loop sounds if you have to.

keep up the good work!

Man i dont have time to watch it all, but the first couple of minutes editing I liked. Shots were good, interesting. I just hope you dont plan on using copyright material (music) when selling the DVDs, could find yourself in hot water. As it is you may be deemed to have done so as this could be seen as a promo for the actual DVD thus a commercial purpose. I would be careful of that.

We all use copyright stuff from time to time, I do when I am shooting little scenes of nothingness I throw together for camera tests etc. But the time to be worried is when there is a commercial aspect.

Thanks for the compliments! as far as the music we used, im sure it is copyrighted, anyhow we sold them with a 12 dollar expected donation. would that fly?

Thanks,

not really, its pretty much against the law. just don't get caught. but the video could have been much shorter... especially for a highlight reel. the content you had should've been compressed.

Great camera quality, really great. It shows that you put a lot of work into it when you sync the music with the plays, too.

I have done the highlight reel for a team in MN for the past two years and will continue to and anticipate better equipment and quality each year. $12 donation was good for that video. And I don't think it was too long, mine was 35 min (Although I had coach introduction, team picture, playoffs, an "off the field" portion, and outtakes).

I would recommend more personable titles, close ups of the guys and more crowd shots. I have found it is more personable and people like to see beyond the uniform and helmets, as well as beyond the football field (bus trips, prayer circles, locker rooms, pasta dinners). Otherwise I think the quailty of your camera was awesome and you had some unque camera angles.
