I can't wait to see this one!
Hey Herman, thanks!

I just checked out you profile. Very cool. I like it. Especially your occupation!

I wish that you had come down to our auditions. What are you doing Jan. 3-7? I know it isn't much but we do have a need for some extras and would love to use members of our dvx family!

Drop me a PM, we can discuss if you are interested.

Will watch your guys table read clip and comment tomorrow ... looking forward to it but really beat right now.

Cool, Jack. Wow. I forget some of these films that Jack has done. Amazes me that he has been acting since B&W films.

Wait a minute! I'm confused. Are these two posters from the same movie???

I just wanted to give a huge SHOUT OUT to Blaine Golden and Kevin Halverson (khmuse).

For those who may not know, Kevin is TTN's DP and today we had a blocking rehearsal for camera with actors and I got to work side by side with this guy. Wow! Does he knows his stuff!!! Tomorrow we have our first day of shooting principle photography and I feel like a kid the night before Christmas.

And Blaine is just the most mild-manner, easy going but thorough man on the set (though he tells me to expect a different side of him once we start actually shooting!) For those who may not know, Blaine is TTN's Line Producer and is a complete PRO in his job. He has completed work for us that I would never think of. And he has completed work for us that I just could never bear to do. (I am talking about the paperwork and planning. Blaine is so on top of this and defines his job for us on a daily basis as he provides breakdowns, call sheets, releases, etc.) And on top of all that, he is a "local" for our location and has yet to fail on suggesting the best places to grab a beer!

I would also like to welcome Tim Hyten (Slimothy). Tim is our Gaffer/Key Grip and from everything that I've heard, he is just as pro as the other two gentlemen that I have mentioned in this post. I look forward to meeting and watching Tim at work tomorrow.

So, thank you to these guys who may not always get then acknowledgement or the spotlight but as we head into our first day of principle photography, I am sure that you are all going to become well aware of this men.

Blaine, Kevin, Tim... Thank you!

Tomorrow we begin!

Hey david jerome, thanks! I tell you, I get a little tingly watching it, too. Mark did a great job choosing the music and setting the video to it. Love it.

Started watching your flick, Sonic Man.... love the opening. Man, Mark and I were rolling on the floor. It seems to take a LONG time to load so I am going to download this and what it without the stop and start interruptions. But very fun so far!

I do appreciate the words! You entering in Dramafest???

-Ted

Hey Ted, I'm on the fence right now. If some things come together I hope to enter. I have an idea I want to shoot but won't have the chance until the last two or three weeks of the contest. Reading this thread is a real kick in the butt though. It's really getting me pumped to do something. I'm reading Robert Rodriguez's book right now with his journals when making El Mariachi and this thread feels alot like that with the daily updates. Keep it up.

David,

Sonic Man totally rocks. Nice effects, too. Your bird-man scenes represent some of the funniest frames I've seen this year. I read Rodriguez's Rebel Without A Crew last month and really enjoyed it. However, I found The Declaration of Independent Filmmaking by the Polish brothers to be even more valuable and inspiring. If you haven't read it you should go to Amazon.com right now.

Yesterday we covered a lot of territory and blocked out a whole series of scenes on location. We used a DVX100 to roll footage from various camera angles during the blocking for the benefit of our DP, Kevin. We've digitized all of that footage so that we can pull frames for reference and to use in our storyboarding/previs.

This evening we'll be shooting an interesting bluescreen setup with our lead, Rob, so we'll look forward to posting some BTS here by tomorrow.

Thanks Mark, and thanks for the book recommendation, I'll pick it up. I can't wait to see the BTS stuff of what your shooting today. I'm really enjoying reading your progress on this. I think you should win a thread of the year award. You got me hooked.

David, man.... I just got to see your film.

THAT WAS GREAT!

Seriously, I so enjoyed that! What fun. Your actors were great. The writing was clever and there were some wonderful VFX. I loved the first flying bit. I had to stop the film and watch it frame be frame. And the entire film is just so beautifully shot!

Very clever. Very entertaining.

I can't wait to see another David Jerome film!

Well done!
