New Short (also set in england ^_^) filmed on SG35

thanks everyone.. I promise you'll be the first to see a good res downloadable version once I feel ready to let this go! It's not gonna happen for about a month.

The indoor lighting setup was really simple. The stuff by the window was a single meisar with some ND (and maybe some diffuser..) The shot with the kid by the doorway of the front room was lit from the front + side and a backlight snuck behind him in the bathroom to give him a halo and punch him out from the BG.

For now I have uploaded my previous film as a quicktime; 'Dont Look Back' -

I wish I could add some more feedback for you, but anything that I could try and come up with has been stated.

The big thing that stuck with me was the wipes at the start. They didn't seem to fit with the rest.

The right to left dolly shots worked for me. Not seeing the plane... worked for me. It all worked for me. Film (aka DV) needs to break from the traditional and expected and stand for what it is... art... created by artists. Many shorts that I have seen are simply good because they do a good job at telling a story. Unfortunately the creators seem to do this by mimicking big budget productions. This short is more because it tells a story and exists as a work of art at the same time.

This is one of the better shorts that I have seen. I know this doesn't help you, but I wouldn't do much if anything as far as changes. Submit it and start your next one!

Fantastic, I will have to get a 35 adaptor, it is just a shame that my steadicam merlin couldn't take it.

Great stuff. The only thing that throws me is the yellow chicks. Sorry!

I understand why, it's just that they're so central to the film. Maybe you can colour-correct them in Shake? Desaturate them to grey? Just an idea and almost certainly a ton of work.

I'm not going to pick the narrative to pieces, I understood it clearly enough, but personally I would've liked a happier ending. This one was very British. :(

Great work.

The link to the movie is not connecting - (I just see an empty flash player window)

Any ideas? or does anyone else have another link?

I would quite like to see this.... Any ideas if its hosted elsewhere, the original ink dosn't seem to work...

Haha... the SG35 is the origional SGpro... IT was beautiful, i had one.. it lost 1/4 stop of light, and was SO heavenly in its image.... IT had a certain look to it. it was beautiful.
