p2 rebate and the Marketplace

I am doing this on my own, but as I am reading the recent posts, it seems a reminder is necessary.

Panasonic is offering a rebate for a free 8gig P2 card on new camera purchases until December 31st. This obviously influences the selling price of used HVX's.

Lately, it seems that all of the HVX marketplace listings have become a place where people feel the need to inform the seller that their package is overpriced.

I understand that some of these postings are an honest attempt to inform and to help. However, there is a rule in a sticky in the marketplace that specifically states if you are not interested in purchasing the product listed in the market place, then don't post there. These postings are becoming debates about the price of a sellers package. Some of these are beginning to become personal and are generating negative vibes in the marketplace.

Please, if you are not interested in the product then don't post in the thread. If you are interested in the product, I believe business is to be conducted via pm as per Marketplace rules.

If you happen to be selling an HVX be aware that there is a P2 card rebate in process which will effect the value of your camera in a buyers eyes. I suggest that you do what you want, first of all. It is after all, your camera that YOU are selling. A suggestion though, may be to wait until January 1st, and try selling your camera then. Things may return to "normal", the rebate may be extended, or there may be an even better rebate offered at that time. It is the nature of the beast. Period. Let's please keep the marketplace a place for buying and selling of equipment amongst fellow DVXUser's. Not a place to debate the value/worth of one's offer. This is only increasingly leading towards personal attacks and bad blood.

A humble suggestion from a fellow DVXUser. Happy Filming.

Thanks,
Jason

It's already in the big Hudson sticky note, in like 48-point type, but thanks for pointing it out Ramjet.

If you're not interested in someone's marketplace offering, don't post there. And don't try to conduct negotiations back and forth in the thread, that's what PMs are for.
