Screen Grabs from new Indie movie, 'FIVE' from NZ

Hey everyone,

Find attached the un-colour corrected screen grabs from our new indie horror/thriller 'FIVE' - all the way from New Zealand.

We shot it on 2 cameras - the DVX100A and the DVX102. The location was 1 hours hike into the woods from the nearest road and the hut we were staying at had no electricity or any such conveniences. Carrying a generator or lights into the location was virtually impossible as everyone was carrying their own food supplies and bedding and water supplies for 2 days and 2 nights. Being a 'no budget' flick we decided to go with natural lighting (including the night shoot - for which we used candles and a couple of gas lanterns to light the scenes up).

The capture mode was 'Squeeze' instead of 'letterbox' or '4:3'. We didn't use any external lenses or adaptors - the images are from the stock lens. Hope you enjoy the pics. I am just moving into post with this thing - should be a couple of months before I cut a proper trailer for this.

Cheers for checking this out. I will write an update once the website is up and running for this movie.

Looks pretty good! mind sharing the scene file settings you used? I'm putting a list together with settings and their resulting image impact.

The guy on the RIGHT looks like Mel Gibson, & the girl on the Left is HOT! :)

These look GREAT! Yes please let us know what settings you had for this shoot!

Can't wait to see the final product!

looks like an Episode of Lost, well the guy in the third picture really looks like Jack and its all tropical jungle so that was really what gave me that impression. Looks good though!

thought the same lol

Hi, thanks for the comments

In answer to the questions:

> Did you shoot on any Rings locations?
No, we shot it in the Waitakeres - which is on the west coast of North Island - about 30 minutes drive from Auckland. New Zealand is divided into 2 islands and most of 'Lord of the Rings' was shot either in Wellington (in the studio) or across different locations in South Island, which is stunningly beautiful.

> The scene files would be great ; did you do any cc in post?
I will ask the DP's for the scene files and post them up here. We basically used about 3 different scene files we found here on the forum and then tweaked them according to our needs. The grabs here are not cc'ed. I am yet to start editing the movie. I will start in a couple of weeks once I finalize the workflow.

>looks like an Episode of Lost
Awesome...I guess that's a compliment because we are doing this without any money on a couple of DVX's. Storyline?? I don't think it is similar to Lost at all...

Looks very cool Amit. Good to see Richard in this again. Love the location too.

Hope we get to hook up next month, and good luck again!
