Just for a goof, Timelapse

That's really funny. I have been postponing the same thing in my backyard... Wouldn't take nearly as long as yours as I would be on a push mower and it's a small FL backyard... I think you'd inspired me to give it a shot...

Sweet stuff..

Quite amusing. All we need is the Benny Hill sax theme and the head-slapping on the old man. ;)

Thanks for posting!

I realized long ago that any film, no matter what it's about, is turned into pure comic gold with fast motion and the Benny Hill music.

Now on to my next great action packed, fast paced cinematic masterpiece, Sleeping Cats!

2 possitives can't equal a negative, except in the English launguage. Yeah, right...

I guess this shows another benifit to using the FS-100, timelapse times the HVX won't do on it's own, 1fps, in any shooting mode.

Its like the Daytona 500, but much more fun to watch. If only there had been an extremely slow-speed crash into that tree. That would look hilarious in fast motion.

That's a fun use of the Firestore, and I especially dig the sound it actually captured. In fact, the whoosh of you going by on the mower is what sells the humor. It's just so over-the-top you can't help but laugh.

Now how about a flash cut to super slow mo CU of the blades cutting the grass, then flash back to the Land Speed Record Lawn Mowing! The Lawn Matrix in bullet time. He he

Elton, you really pressed the WRONG button. Oh, you guys are going to hate me soon...

Now, how do I get the camera to see under that mower.... think, think...

that was hilarious!!! i'm definitely downloading that and saving it on my computer to show my friends. HILARIOUS

also, is there any way possible to film this way on a dvx100b?

If you use an FS-4, which I believe is the Firestore model compatibale with that camera.

Funny stuff Ben but how did you get it to record 1 frame a second in 24p. I thought only 2fps works in the frame rate hack and interval mode doesn't work in 24p as far as I've been told.

The HVX was turned on, but I never hit it's record button. I set the Time Lapse rate in the FS-100 and hit IT'S record button. The FS-100 gives you any TL setting from one frame to twentyfour hours.

Standard NTSC blade rate of 60 half blades per second, but the camera was at 1 frame per second, and I had to match it up. It was tough doing the conversion. Some one really should standardize blades and frames...
