My name is André Hedetoft and I'm a 22 year old geek.
My hearts wildest wishes is the become the obvious geek movie director.
You know, superhero movies, comic book movies.
Movies like Star Wars, The Matrix and Spiderman.

To achieve that goal I need your help!

Help me get 1000 Fan Club members over at http://www.andrehedetoft.com
It's totally free and basically means that I get to send you a mail
when something exciting is happening.

When I have 1000 Fan Club members I will go out and tattoo in

Geek Movie Director on myself.
(To show that I'm serious about it and that I'm in it of the ride of my life.)
Then I will make my next short wow geek movie and put it up on You Tube.

So, geeks, help me, you are my only hope!

Shouldn't you be making shorts to garner a fan base?
Rather than getting a fan base in order to make a short?

If it costs nothing to join your fanclub why don't you make your super wow short now? What does a fan base based on nothing do for you?

Not trying to shoot you down but it seems you have the cart before the horse.

Also, the tattoo ... you seem intent on prooving you are filmmaker by convincing a thousand people to join your fan base and then getting a tattoo when all you have to do to be a filmaker is make a film ... skip steps one and two.

Just curious - what am I missing? Is this a contest where you get funding or something for your short if you get 1000 members?

bwahaha.

Click his link and watch his video.
It's cute enough that I almost joined the fan club ... I have a feeling I might still, it's oddly compelling ... like I want the updates and want to know when he gets the tatto, etc.
He has the link all organized with a countdown to 1000 members.
He's got 70 so far.

You're absolutely right Jack: Getting 1000 Fan Club members and a tattoo will not automatically turn me into the obvious geek movie director. But there is one thing I've realized. I'm not going to become the obvious geek movie director on my own. And even if I could I would not want to.

You see, I've heard my generation of geeks, cries and whispers, to the movie makers that are turning their wildest dreams into movies. Cries and whispers filled with ideas, comments and thoughts. And yet, most are ignored and overlooked. Some are taken seriously at best - but only when a lot of people sign up for a petition. And I think that is a shame. And I know if I'm going to become the obvious guy to make one-hell-out-of-wow movies for this generation of geeks - I'm going to listen to them. Because together we might make some of the most awesome movies ever seen!

And ultimately that's what I'm trying to do here. I have my fan club so that I can create a relationship with geeks all over the world. A relationship where I listen. Take the comments seriously. Engage them. Involve them. Do anything and everything in my power to make geek movies that will blow them away. Together.

That's the point of this. And as I said, I realize that getting 1000 fan club members and a tattoo isn't going to turn me into the obvious geek movie director. But remember that this is only the beginning. And when I get those members - I get to prove that I'm worth a damn and if you like what you see - I get to make another movie WITH you and not just FOR you and that's the big difference.

Know what I mean?

Herman: I know that it's a stretch. But in the end I want you to sign up not just because this is my lifelong dream and quest and not just because it might be a wild idea and not just because it's totally free to join and that you can unsubscribe anytime you like, but because you as well believe in what I stand for, making movies WITH geeks instead of just FOR them.

And even though I can't show you a still image now :) The movie I'm making is the beginning of an internet-series about what makes regular people dress up as superheroes and go out and fight crime on their spare time. I've always loved the contrast of superheroes with regular problems or regular people with superheroes characteristics.

Stuart: I don't know yet. But I'm probably putting it on my right arm so as big as that fits ;)

Thanks for your input and thanks for you time!

Keep on rocking!

Best regards

As I've said so many times over on forums and on blogs all over the Internet - I’m here because I truthfully care about what you have to say. I’m here to listen, discuss and improve from our conversations. And I intend to keep that promise.

The last days there have been some heavy discussion all over the Internet concerning my "Save André Hedetoft - get 1000 Fan Club members - tattoo in Geek Movie Director - make my next movie as if my life depended on it” quest. Everything from people who think it's totally crazy, to pure rubbish, to an wonderful idea, to giving me advice on the way, to sign up to my fan club. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I try to improve from all of it.

Here is the deal. I must get to keep Some of my stubbornness. Because like so many times before in my live my passion and stubbornness have got me to make things that many said couldn't be done. So as I said - some stubbornness I must get to keep, it's because of that I wake up every damn day with a smile on my face and a dream that, one day, I will wake up and just get to make wonderful geek movies all day long.

But as I said, I listen, I discuss and I try to improve from our conversations. And a question that has been brought up many times is 1) Why don't I just go make my damn movie right now? 2) Do I have anything to show off and prove my worth?

So in an attempt to meet somewhere in the middle between my stubborn passion and your will, advice and curiosity I have decided to make a teaser/trailer of my upcoming movie that I'm making as soon as I have got 1000 Fan Club members over at http://www.andrehedetoft.com

It's going to be short. It's going to be wooow. It's going to be here soon. And hopefully it's going to give you a tease of what to come, as soon as I have gotten my 1000 Fan Club members.

What do you think of that?

Which style do you prefer?

Which style do you prefer?

I need your help. You see, my idea behind the whole Fan Club is to build relations with like-minded geeks all around the world so that at some point in the future I’m not just making movies to you - I’m making movies with you. Now we are at a very important creative decision in the making of the teaser for the upcoming internet-series Extraordinaries! And I really want to know what you think we should run with.

I've uploaded two short clips from one of the black and white scenes.
These scenes will work as flashback scenes and will be intervined with exaggerated colorful scenes.

Watch the detailed clip over at http://www.andrehedetoft.com/sneekpeek/detailed.mov

Watch the minimalistic clip over at
http://www.andrehedetoft.com/sneekpeek/minimalistic.mov

The whole point with the minimalistic style is that we only show as little as possible, but just enough so you get the right feeling from the scene and leave the rest up to your wild and beautiful imagination (and to sound fx). The Whole point with the more detailed style is to show of a little more and create images that are more powerful and beautiful. But sometimes less really is more and sometimes less is simply just not enough.

The question is simple: Which style do you like the most?

Please answer here or on my blog over at andrehedetoft.com/geekporn

Looking forward to hear what you have got to say!

I'm not joining your fan club, but I guess I could donate you some of my time as a composer if you have a film finished for me to have a look at.

EDIT: ok...what the heck - joined anyway.
