My Website Ya'll!!!!!

Pretty wack if you ask me...

Why don't you supply some meaningful info with the clips, so we can judge your skillz... stuff like camera used, lenses, lights etc.

OK, just pulling your chain, but seriously, that would be extra cool... as is, lovely footage... I'd hire you!

Funny, I just emailed timur tonight asking if he wanted to add some info about cameras, lenses, etc. I've done other sites for big time commercial DPs and never really have any of that stuff, just the clips, but it seems like it would be cool to have stuff about the adaptors/lenses/cameras.

But I guess the question is, will that stuff help him get more work?

The problem with that is then any DP and come figure out what you are doing, copy it, and take your business. Probably not such a big deal at this stage but as a style and technique gets more developed it means more to protect it.

true to a degree, but like n8ture says, yo ucant steal talent. imean i can "copy" the scheme of lighting and lens choices that Thierry Arbogast (fifth element, The professional) uses, but believe me it wont look the same......

just little by little learn more and more ...... from aram....... then build a bussiness.......

I agree, you need to have a gear and experience page. You might also want to break up the bleak black bacground with slightly lighter line designs, definately lighten up your text a little more. Then, the menu- every page shoulld have links to the rest of the site, without having to go to the main page first. Really good feel to it though, so great work.

well you can bestow the good will to mark harris.

I have no clue how to do this "web stuff". he did everything. i literally sent him a Microsoft "paint" file, tha tjust said the initial Timur civan, Art Video Cinematography.

he made it all happen.

Yeah, right now there is only a link to the home page, because there are no other pages. I think a gear page would be nice too. And I may want to swap out the "WMV" and "H264" with little icons. But I am a fan of simplicity.

Unless somebody might want to hire him to shoot, then they would be interested in knowing what he brings to the table.

as you guys can tell i am all bout simple websites. i hate OVerly complex websites.

I was going to make a fancy flash site for puffinfilms.com but decided that I didn't need another 2advanced.net type site. All I do now is use photoshop to make the design and and export as and HTML then bring it into dreamweaver to make the links.

I need to learn flash. I develop software but really don't do that much web beyond stuff to help people out like this. But it prob couldn't hurt to know Flash. When used judiciously, like the sites Kholi found, it can be very cool.
