Casino Royale

nah man what is good was showing that even the villans are in over their heads... trying to give realism to james bond is what the series has always lacked now with the new bond series, they have a chance for realism..

And that's the road down which the Mission Impossible franchise is headed...the lack of realism...

F@#$@ awesome Bond flick! Yay Bond movies that you can get excited about are back! No more netflix maybes, and being a netflix "maybe" is pretty pathetic.

The whole timeline/reinvention thing is a great idea. This way the old and new remain distinctly separate without Bond nerd's bitching about muddy continuity issues- and at the same time winking at the references.

Good stuff. Bond is back baby -and he's pissed off. CR lays a great foundation too, especially in the "trust no one" sense. We can only expect in the next one he'll be the more cynical and bitter... distracting himself by focusing more on "his work," which is of course banging hot chicks and lighting people up. He's sharp too! During the chase scene in the beginning for example, it's Bond's cleverness vs the other's coordination. Or M's "how does he know these things?" Or the whole sizing one another up sequence.. a little over the top but great for rounding out the character.

that movie kicked ass

trying to find out what they used to film it

anyone know the specs of the camera by any chance?

i forgot to ask em, all i know is they used the ps technik

Just tripped over a wierd bit of Bond trivia - Steve Reeves was the first pick to play James Bond, in Dr. No; when he turned it down the role went to Sean Connery.

I havn't seen this and was not going to because of the actor (forgot his name) who plays james bond did not look like a james bond. Then lots of my friends have said it's a great 007 and they loved it and the movie just kept you in your seat waiting for what's going to happen next. So i believe i will go see it now..

what are your reviews to people that have seen it?

dude, daniel craig is almost exactly how ian fleming described bond on thing was no scars on his face but his face is great for it plus hes a great actor.

The one thing that a Bond film MUST be is bad ass from all sides, Bond being the most crucial part. If Bond doesn't work, this flick doesn't work.

Most Bond fans always say the best Bond was Sean Connery. I agree, hands down. When I was a kid I thought Moore was better, but that was before I knew what "bad ass" was.

Who ever gets the closest to Fleming's idea is the winner. D. Craig is new, but he looks like a Bond to me. He has much more character than some of the other Bonds, and much more range to boot.

Embrace the new Bond. It's time for things not to suck again. The last 20 years of Bond have been, for the most part, licking my butt. I thought P. Diddy was going to be the next Bond, for Pete's sake.

Eheh eheh. Have you seen my jet pack.
Go downtown and get me a sugar cookie or I'm going to have to close the studio.

Ha ha ha, P Diddy is a douche.

lol

guys, imdb, is a reference bank with not so accurate information, i was hoping someone would get clearere information.

Yes they were used. I'll restate, i was in Prague, At Barrendov, speaking with sound techs, and camera techs, they showed me the 4 of the 4k cameras they were using, and we wentinto a good hour and a half discussion about the whole digital versus film debate, why they were using digital, the adapters they were using ( i could be wrong with the model of adapter they were using ). So yes, this movie was shot digitally, therefor the information on imdb must be incorrect.

Anyone know any other more reliable sources rather than imdb(google of film) ?

i actually brought my dvx along with my glidecam and got some pretty nice footage of the building they used to shoot the climbing scene, the underwater housing, and one of the sound stages which held the bedroom and poker scene. if anyone is interested in seeing, very quick clippits.
