Kyle Stebbins presents "The Corsairs"

WOW!!! A real newby! One POST!!! Congrats Jarrod. Are you working with Stebbins? Sorry to hear that. I hope that you have authority over him. The guy can be a real---- [MR. ARABIAN, WE AT DVXUSER WOULD APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH IF YOU WOULD REFRAIN FROM CALLING OTHER MEMBERS ON THE BOARD SUCH NAMES. THANK YOU, THE MODS]---- but if you get him cornered with some dirt, the dude totally backs off. Just a bit of advice.

Cool...Welcome to the boards!

I'll say.... I am getting nervous just hitting any link around your posts. I am afraid something's going to go off and I am going to be having to listen to more of that DEEP RELAXATION AND MEDITATION cut!

Okay, I am sorry I am being a wise-cracker today. It's been a long day and I am just having fun unwinding!

Really hope to see some of the film sometime soon.

I put a tribute to it on our TTN script! Just for you, Mr. Kyle!

Hope I was of some help today!

Hahahaha, you crazy homer, you crazy.

Alright, big update here guys... check this out:

So I've read all over dvxuser a countless number of times that if you are going to be shooting in public with fake guns or weapons you need to inform the local police station of when and where you will be doing it. Well, somehow this rule of thumb completely flew over our heads as we proceeded to shoot in broad daylight with arms-bearing talent. Later that night, we were reshooting a scene where a gun murder was involved (ingeniously lit with three sets of headlights) and right as the trigger was being "pulled" a police cruiser pulled up, shined his spotlight on the actor (who was directly in front of me) and pulled a gun out and pointed it at him screaming "PUT THE GUN DOWN!"

He was handcuffed and thrown in the back of the cruiser.

What I learned from a situation like this is that no matter what you are using the fake weapons for on a film shoot, to "fire" or to just use for show, it is ALWAYS a good idea to call the local police and tell them everything that is going to be happening on your shoot. Everything. -- It was not worth it to put our actor in harms way like that, because, had the cop been just a rookie and considerably inexperienced, our friend might've had a few extra holes in him that night.

After we informed him that we were just theatre and film students making a film for a class, he told us a few things to do for next time and when asked whether we could continue to shoot or not, he told us: "Let her rip!"

Needless to say, once he was un-handcuffed, we let him have a cigarette and then we got back to shooting.

Actually, Logan, the actor, was very calm about it. He was just like "Hell ya! I almost got shot!" He's pretty much a beast.

I, on the other hand, was a huge pansy and was frozen on the ground with my hands up even after the officer told me to chill.

(This is Kyle... no time to log out... I'm on Alex's G5)

Logan IS badass... what an experience that was!
Gotta go shoot... later homies!!

G5.... drool...... me want G5......

Hey Mr. Kyle, man.... updates, updates! Any pics? Any more cops???

Mr. Ted

Yeah, Logan is one cool dude. Although the cop is lucky that it wasn't a real gang shooting or something like that. Because there was only one cop and he didn't notice Christian or myself and we would have capped him.

(this just a post to up my post count but it's generaly on topic)

No cops tonight, although I believe they did deal with the fuzz earlier in the day, but I wasn't there.

Yup.

Yeah, we had another run in this afternoon that involved us trespassing on a property... but man, WHAT a property! It's the broken down shed that you see in the posted grabs.

I want to post more stuff but unfortunately all the stuff is on Alex's computer! You hear that, Alex? C'mon!

Anyways, for an update: We wrap shooting after one more scene is shot. Tonight was productive and got finished quickly -- although our hot, steamy make-out scene proved to be quite hazardous when our actress's heel POPPED the airbed!! HAHA!

Anyway, for those interested... we are premiering the show at the Mary Riepma Ross center on Dec. 4 here in Lincoln, NE!

Happy thanksgiving everyone! the team has taken a leave for the weekend and will get back on it this Monday.

Update: Herman Witkam just confirmed that he will compose a few scenes for The Corsairs... if he has time, we'll have him score the whole thing!

Thanks everyone!

Ooh Happy Thanksgiving! I feel the need to gain 10 pounds, even for just over the weekend. Hahaha!

Oh and I'm voting yes for more screen grabs. Notion Passed.
