My Wife is putting up Christmas Decorations

Tree is on its way up right now...and I'm a little peeved. I'd like to actually enjoy Thanksgiving before even thinking about Christmas. Am I just a Scrooge?

No...I agree with you. Christmas decorations up before thanksgiving is crazy. That would mess with my internal holiday spirit timeclock. Tell her while she's at it she could hide some easter eggs under the tree.

I'm putting mine up next week. Celebrate it! Think of Thanksgiving and Christmas as one holiday rolled into one. They are both great and if you have the tree up before you eat the hog for Thanksgiving, I don't think the hog minds.

We have a radio station here in Detroit that started playing Christmas music the 1st of November.

if i had my way i would keep up the tree and lights for 6 months, but the little lady has to act like scrooge and make me take them down. this year i am being given only 2 months to have the stuff up - damn! the christmas spirit is infectious - give it a go.

Here in Finland it's originally traditional to put up the tree on CHRISTMAS EVE. As it's part of the celebrations & partying. Of course we then party on late into the night ending up totally smashed by the end of it as is normal in Finland.
Then we have a week to recuperate before New Year's eve.

..the 6th of January, with 12th (last) day of Christmas is when trees are supposed to come down. Though that's another excuse to party and get smashed again.


Then again, that's tradition. In recent years that has gone out of the window and decorations up any time in December is cool. And the drinking is game any time :beer:
