I have shot my other wake videos with Sony cams, and never once has anyone ever commented on the picture quality- apparently wakeboarders could care less :)... this footage shot on the HVX is so much better than anything I ever shot on my Sony cams (FX-1 and 2100). The colorspace is so much better!!! Love the workflow, too!!!

Nice Job!! But as for the movie itself, I is kind of tricks after tricks too much. I would be good if you introduced other kind of footage. You get bored of watching a "porn" style movie.

That was some nice footage and some kickass tricks. But I do agree with Alex a little that you need to change it up a little bit. Try and suggest something original for those guys to do. Like something else to ride or maybe some more rails.

The video, itself will have alot more lifestyle type shots, as well as the riders doing other things they do like motox, surf, skate, etc. The teaser was meant to really just showcase the wake riding and the energy. Great tips, though. Thanks. I appreciate em.

Oh yea, and I do like porn :)

Sweet, great color and angles. If your ever out in the PNW, I have an 06 VLX that i would be happy to use for a shoot.

super nice color great shots... looks great

It did feel repetitive, but having watched millions of snowboard videos I don't think it must be much of a problem. However, if you wanted to make people feel there might be more to this video than millions of super clear shots of amazing clips I'd add more of the non-trick stuff sporadically in the middle. It gives people a chance to appreciate the magnitude of the tricks. If you see trick after trick if feels as though everyone is pulling stuff like that... but if you show an old lady walking slowly with some bananas through an island market and then you see a dude spinning 1080 with a backflip and landing like it is a walk in the park you are that much more concious of how hard it must be by contrast.
Something else that I really appreciate watching my videos is an occasional name of the trick below for the harder ones... it makes them feel more prestigious than the simpler ones.
All that stuff where you see the athletes interacting always makes you feel more connected to them, which then hightens joy of them not braking their skull open and makes you feel that much worse when they eat it.
Showing the gear is something to think about too. Wakeboarder, as snowboarders, must be wondering what they use, should I get that? and if they see their own stuff and they see a guy pull of something radical with it they automatically become attached to that video, becaue they feel they could do that too and the will most definitely show it to their buddies selling it for you. But that might be something to think about and talk about with the athlete becaue of sponsorship issues.

I LOVED the shots when the sun is behind you! they looked stunningly beautiful
how many fps did u shoot at? please tell u your settings
did you try to slow down even a tad further in post?

I love the look... impressed! Great great look! Makes me wanna go shoot some snowboarding videos!

Nice looking tricks. Lots of wake videos shot here in Orlando... and hoping to get to shoot some with the HVX myself. What waterhousing do you use? Are you planning on riding along behind them in an innertube, etc? Would look wiked in slow mo with a wide angle adapter on the front...

Really loved the sunset shots on the rail... Those are sweet demo reel quality shots for sure. Thanks for showing.

I use the Ewa Marine bag. Alot of the shots in the trailer are shot using that housing. Pretty nice option for a sub $500 housing. I ride behind them in a tube if the sun is behind us. It all depends the time of day determines my placement.

I will be back down in Orlando in about 10 days finishing up the shoot!

That was fun. I'm not into wakeboarding but I was totally into the trailer, so mission accomplished! I'm looking forward to final product.

And don't forget, you can always "sneak preview" more footage here. :)

Heh, wonder why you picked 4/20 for the release date...? :Drogar-Smoke(DBG):

I thought the same thing. I think he made it a little too obvious by having the "4-20" up before the "07" comes in. :)

got your attention, didn't it :)

would you remember it if it was 4-19?

I do appreciate your comments though- and I will be getting some more teaser footage out before the release. I'll be sure to post it!

how study and confident are you in that housing. The other hard shell ones are really really expensive. I might have to check that out. When will you be in Orlando? Need a 2nd HVX shot from land or something else?

like I said... for a housing that is under $500 for the HVX it's great. I need it more for protection than for it's "underwater" capabilities, although I have submersed it and it was fine. The problem when you submerse it is it fills with air so it wants to float back up, so you do battle that. The other thing that I'm not a big fan of is the metal bar that "seals" the bag runs along the top of the bag, so when looking in the eyepiece you have a big metal rod in your forehead the whole time. I live with it... its not that bad, just a nuisance.
