Round 11 - DVXUser Photography Contest - 11.15.06

I was thinking of doing "it's been a hard day's night" and I've been....
with all this time spending above the laptop fixing the site, but not time even for a quick shoot.

Ah don't you just love it when everything works smoothly? Contest's status hasa turned green, that means we can vote. Anyway I have to leave for work now, enjoy.

NOTE:

By all means, give yourself a 10 across the board, vote on your own image... You should ALWAYS be proud of what you submitted and give yourself whatever ranking you want.

BUT

The intentional low voting on other images, is not acceptable and goes against the concept behind these contests. We put a lot of time, effort, resources, and money into these for the benefit of this community and if winning an online contest is so important to you that you would intentionally sabotage others then there is no place for you in these contests.

All votes are tracked and monitored for irregularities by the administrators of these contests.

Needless to say, I'm livid.

Unfortunately wasn't able to submit anything this time around due to tons of homework. Can't wait to go through and vote, and hopefully leave some comments this time as well. Just took a quick look, and there's some fantastic stuff!

argh, missed the upload instruction corrections, sorry about that guys (living where i do makes things difficult sometimes) I'd love to add comments to mine, i'll add them after votings finished i suppose :D

Yes, a new feature is on it's way where the photographer - after voting is done - can edit his comment text and add additional information.
On another note, voting/score policy is under discussion.

I guess I'm naive, but I'm surprised that there are people who would do this. This whole contest is supposed to be about having some fun and learning from each other.

i personally prefer to not vote for my own work to see what happens with others opinions. I don't want to impact the score at all, thats not the point for me.

The site council has decided that from the next contest and on, voting for our own images won't be allowed.

By the way... Firefox 2 has spell-checking functionality... cool.

My only concern is the number of submissions. I don't know maybe people need motivation like prizes. Either we need to promote it more or make it more fun, kind of like a game.

I planned to submit something this time, but I had a lot come up the weekend before the deadline and couldn't shoot anything. I already have a couple ideas for round 12... and neither of them are limited by the weather... so I have no excuses.

Yeah, I also wanted to be in on this one, but it's been a really busy week. Hopefully I'll have time to get something in next week.

Prizes arn't necesarry.

How would ya'll like to have an extra couple of days to work on things? Announcing on Fridays so you get two weekends to work on projects?

Real quick poll... Very quick in fact.

More time would be good. One contest per week is a little fast in my opinion, maybe if they would be bi-monthly, or like Jeremy said and have two weekends. Something like that.

I agree that prizes aren't necessary.
