Run a search for "calibrate monitor" and you should get some usefull help on the topic.

I have a field monitor, but never tried to hook it up to the comp. Does it have to be run from the comp to a camcorder to the monitor, or directly from computer to monitor? I know weird question, but I read somewhere it had to be from comp to cam to monitor. Doesn't make much sense to me. =/Joshua Provost said:Editing on a flat monitor... good idea. Also having a calibrated production monitor hooked up to see what the footage will really look like... awesome idea.
Spyder device?TeleDan said:I really like editing on a big flat panel display. I have a Dell 2405 24" model that I really like. I calibrate it with one of those Spyder devices but it's still on the dark side. Plus I have yet to see a LCD display that could match the dynamic range of a tube. So even though I edit on a flat panel, it would drive me crazy if I didn't have a CRT display to reference against.

TeleDan said:Sorry. I'm refering to a device for calibrating a computer monitor. Something like this:
