Mark and Ted's Excellent Adventure in Drama

Hey guys!

Brandon - I got the voicemail, sorry I haven't returned your call yet! Class is CRAZY!! We're getting ready for finals and I'm memorizing everything under the sun... or so it seems. I promise I'll throw you a call soon.

Ted - Glad your show went well! I'm very sorry to hear about your friend. I'm sure that Mark can help you through the tough times since I know he went through a fairly similar experience with his nephew. It is very kind of you to make a film dedicated to her. If you need help, I'd be more than happy.

Marky - You just can't get enough people helping on this project, can you? I hope to talk to you soon... I've been having problems talking with people because I've been sick and have had little time!!!

I'm actually off to work right now, so... it's been fun!! I'm filming my cousin's play tonight with my dvx... it's called My Antonia (Ted, you might've heard of it). My cousin plays a little boy (he's a little youngster) and they're allowing taping/pictures so it'll be a blast! I'm bringing my rebel along for the ride, as well. After that, it's all Corsairs Corsairs Corsairs!!!

Thanks guys!!!
-Kyle

Kyle,

I'm not sure if you're on the Yahoo reflector group yet, but am hoping that Ted can do what is necessary to add you if you are not on it since you are an important player vis-a-vis the script and story details. Ted, if its necessary to have Kevin add Kyle can you PM him? Also, Kyle, if you didn't get the notice there is a new VFX team page that you may find interesting. I'm pretty sure you got it, but if not just go to the VFX tab and you'll find a link.

Hey Tom! wait til you see what our guys do with this. Man, I am getting excited. I have a 10-meter 3D mesh of our primary location from the U.S.G.S. that I'll be posting on our VFX page soon along with some aerial textures. Our previz is going to totally rock.

Hello guys,

I will need Kyle's email address as only I can add individuals to the group (administrator privilege).

Some one get it to me and I'll see that its sent straight out.

Hey Kyle,

The invitation was just sent out. Let me know if you don't receive it or if you have any questions about joining.

For those of you who have expressed interest in my nephew Brett's recovery I have the latest update from his folks who are staying with him at Craig Rehabilitation Hospital in Denver. (Brett is more than a nephew. He's a best friend and was my AC on the CHOW BABY project.) He was walking home from a football game and was struck by a drunk driver in Denver back over labor day. He was in a coma for more than a month but is now making slow but steady progress as you'll note in the progress report:

November 13, 2006 at 11:18 PM MSTWe are pleased to report that Brett continues to make progress. Today they were going to let him try to walk with a therapist and use a cane and he did so well that they said he did not need the cane! The therapist then cleared Denise & I to take him for walks around the floor (using a "gait" belt and holding him for stability) - so we each took him for a lap or 2 after dinner tonight. We were also cleared to bring him to our "on campus" apartment so we can have some quiet time there and have dinner together.

Brett's short term memory is still lacking (he could not remember who visited him yesterday despite having a wonderful 45 minute conversation with a friend from work and another friend he used to work with) but that should improve. He was on the computer playing solitaire and did pretty well until he seemed to lose interest. All of his therapists report progress - especially in his attention span. He used to "check out" after a minute or two, but now can spend several minutes on various projects.

He also seems to have his sense of humor at least partially restored and his speech is soft, but very clear. One of the neurologists comes by once a week to check various things and he always has Brett raise his hands over his head as high as he can - we kind of wonder what is going on as I am sure Brett does. So Dr. Yarnel is known as "Dr. Arms" whenever Brett describes him (hopefully not to his face). When another therapist gave him a choice of 2 exercises to do he asked which one was easier and wanted to do that one!

One new good thing is that Brett is starting to initiate more conversation and it is a lot more fun to converse with him. Doctors told us that patients frequently "fill in the blanks" with fabrications on stories and we have had examples of that - tonight he was talking to a friend from school and she asked what he had been doing and he said "I went skiing today and have been driving my Mom & Dad around!"

The pictures (provided by Sarah) were taken when she visited us 2 weeks ago....we will be updating the photo gallery soon with Brett's smile that everyone knows.

Brett obviously has a long ways to go, but is making continued progress which pleases us to no end.
