M D Productions presents: 'Violet'

Nope, never shot there, but at both "ranches" and private residences in the area. The production company (Blue Cactus Pictures) for a feature that Courtney shot last summer (Freaky Faron) was located in the area, so I am pretty aware of the film industry there.

I like the locations, Kevin...they fit what I imagined while reading the script quite well...

I really like the location photo of the golden rolling hills. Your project looks very ambitious with some very beautiful actresses. I'm very interested in how you fit all those locations in 6 minutes (that's about 5 locations a minute) all though if your going to be a non-competing entry you could increase the length if you had to. I would love to see an example shooting schedule to see how you guys are scheduling this out. Good luck guys - Jeremy

I don't post as much anymore but I want to say I really dig your poster + you have a great looking cast.

good luck on your project.

Hey Kevin, I just got caught up on your thread! WOW! 25-30 locations. I am VERY intrigued in your story.

Your cast looks amazing. I love the photo of your daughter. Great picture!

I wish that I was in CA, I would volunteer to work on your set in a heartbeat!!!

Good luck getting all the red tape dealt with. (contracts, insurance, etc.)

That is quite a budget you have! Makes my $300 plane ticket look like Monopoly money!

Nice pic of Kate there as well. Makes me want a diet Coke. (or something to wet my whistle! :) )

I'll do better at keeping tabs here. Sounding great!

Congrats on getting Blaine and Tim on board. (I wanna join! :crybaby: )

Hey Ted,

I am really pleased with way the cast is lining up, but since this one will be shot under a SAG contract, we are going to be non compete for sure. Its really the only way to be fair to guild actors as there isn't any reason to jeopardize their union status for a low paying job (and I really can't afford to pay them for a television contract).

By the way, you found a round trip for $300? That's a pretty great rate.

If you are serious about joining in on this one, I would be happy to add you in some capacity; perhaps an "East Coast" consultant?

Kevin

Hey Kevin,

David's directing this one, correct? I'd like to come help you guys out and see if I can pick up some good tips from watching him in action...

Hey Tom,

Yes, David is directing this one. As you know, he has a really strong background in film history and is very strong in script coverage. I think that he will do an excellent job. If you would like, you are very welcome to watch (or crew as an AD if you are interested). The story is highly visual, but has some very intense moments as well. I don't want to reveal too much here, but I can get you a script copy if you want a read.

We are having a pre pro meeting Thrusday evening with the crew in Hollywood (The Complex on Santa Monica). Send me a PM or email if you would like to attend.

Kevin, those locations look like where I LIVE?! Where is that?
hey Brandon that is a good quote, it reminds me of a Frank Zappa song "you're probably wondering why i'm here, and so am i and so am i"

Wow! I am definitely interested in joining!!! If you feel that there is a legitimate way that I can help, PLEASE let me know. Thanks!

And yes.... I found a great price on my ticket.... Boston to LA, San Jose to Boston for $297 (after taxes!). I hope I can find a similar deal for January!!!

Let me know if I can help!

Hey Ted,

That is a stunning air fare, particularly for a different departure city booking. Congratulations to you or your travel agent.

I will see if I can think of a way of including you on the crew list for Violet. I do suspect that you are going to be very busy over the next two months with TTN, but lets see what we can work out.

Looking forward to working with you on one or two films!

Kevin

Yeah, I was pretty stoked to find that airfare. Especially with the 2 different routes! Go Orbitz!

I have also found a RT ticket to LA and back for $208 for a possible flight in for rehearsals.

You are correct about me being busy with TTN. I wasn't kidding when I said that I'd like to help so if you think of anything that a person 3000 miles away can do, let me know. But don't go out of your way to "create" something for me. I'll be there in "spirit." :)

I bought the tickets for flying home for Christmas through Orbitz... wound up getting a round trip flight for 4 something... everyone else started at around 650!
