Nike Shoot with Brevis35 and FX1

One of dvxuser's own, "Nalu", just posted up some work for Nike Australia. Wes's adapter was damaged in shipping, and the replacement unit expressed to Wes was going to be a few days past the shoot date ... so Neil Henderson, another aussie with an adapter came to his rescue by shipping his own Brevis35 beta, overnight to Wes..just a day or so before this shoot. Neil, you the man!

The piece is actually a super example of how shooting at a high f stop increases your depth of field with the Brevis. There is also a bit of vignetting using a longer/slow lens which Wes decided to leave in for effect. He shot this without a monitor, much it of from an all terrain quad and used high f stops to make sure the athlete stayed in focus (much deeper DOF) We cannot provide a direct link, or a larger, less compressed version as the agency did not want the footage circulated outside of the contract. The footage is highly compressed..but you'll get the idea.

The site is www.nikeplus.com

As it automatically takes you to the local regional site, you'll need to navigate using the country selector - bottom left. There are four clips under the athlete 'stories' section - two on the Australian site and two on the NEw Zealand site - Wes's favourite in terms of visuals are the Carig Mottram clip on the AUS site and the Sonny Bill clip on NZ.

Some of the full res grabs of these were simply stunning. Hamish Carter (NZ) running down the pier at the end of his story is a poster shot.

He used the standard diffuser..same one that every unit ships with. Without using ND filters on the 35mm lens, particulary in these conditions, stopping down is the only option to control diffuser exposure.
