HVX Rebate page is up!

Offer is available for people who bought from an AUTHORIZED AMERICAN DEALER who bought an HVX200P from Oct 1st-Dec 31st.

AAAHHHH!!!!!!!

I bought a HVX200 and two 8gb cards on 9-28....

Jan can you help me here? I already got Barry's book which is great. I can't be the only one who is in this situation. I have to think Panasonic would offer something to people who are this close to the cut off ??

You would think. I tried writing Jan last week and she never wrote me back.

AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! x TWO

I missed the deadline by 8 days. Please tell me I can get the card! My indie production really needs this extra card and we ran out of money. Please please please... I'll even give Panasonic onscreen credit.

oh don't bad mouth Jan. She's awesome. She helped me get Barry's book. She's really busy. I've seen her helping on other sites as well.

It is a little frustrating when I buy two 8gb cards ($2300) and now they're just throwing them out the window. If I had just waited 2 days....

Yeah man. You guys don't go bad mouthing reps.

It's just the way stuff happens.

There are always better deals when you wait it out.

I'm in the same situation.

We bought our HVX, two 8 gig cards and a P2 Store on 9/27....

Really bad timing!

You know the most crazy part about this is?! I bet I could sell my HVX 'like new' on ebay at a discounted rate of about $800 (I bought it at 5,400 so that would be $4,600) and then buy a new HVX with a free 8gig card (valued at around $1,200) and still save money. How messed up is that?

The only thing I am happy about this deal is that more HVX's will be sold and further the P2 card evolution/demand. But I guess I really missed the boat on this one. The ironic part was I bought the HVX early and havn't even paid for a P2 card yet. I am saving for them right now and have been renting for projects I have been doing. I should have waited I suppose.

I'd personally like to know if this move is to combat the release of Canon and Sony's new camera?

It seems highly unlikely, but this actually puts the rest the idea of having to purchase p2 media to take advantage of the camera's HD capabilities.

If this gets extended beyond the holiday season, it could put to rest the entire issue of the HVX costing 6k plus. Setting it at round-about 5k for straight HD operation.

Uh ohs!

How does that work? Why would they give away hundreds of 8gig cards and not 4gig cards, then?

Sorry, I think I'm dense but I missed that one.

I have no idea why 8 gigs are being given away. I ALWAYS thought they should have included at least one 4 gigger. This give away is confusing everyone. The only reason i suspect a reduction in prices is the unbelievable deal panasonic is giving by giving away the 8 gig cards. Giving away two 4 gig cards would be less expensive if you go by retail pricing.

I want to know how Panasonic would be able to determine when you purchased your AG-HVX200P anyway...
