Mark and Ted's Excellent Adventure in Drama

My slate is grease pencil only but if Kevin or our sound guy believe it will be helpful we will get a time-coded slate.

Can we get one for free???

Hey Kyle, I glad that you got to gulp down that big ol' typo that Mark left sitting out there! I saw it AFTER he had gone to bed and when Mark goes to bed he is OUT!

I chuckled to myself and knew that you would have fun with that one but I didn't expect the highlighter to come out!

BRILLIANT!

:)

And, you know, script supervisor would be an excellent position for you. After you get done assisting with the camera set-up and getting Mark and I coffee, you can take a seat with your highlighter and script and go to town!!! :)

I'll just throw a note out here that if any of you other L.A. DVXUSER's want to come crew we'll be shooting early January and would love to have you. There's going to be shirts in the deal that will likely some day be worth a lot on ebay. Also, Kevin promises that if he ever wins an Oscar some day ALL of us on this crew will be able to suck up to him and get to attend the after-parties with his posse.

Hahaha... of course, who could forget the coffee? Am I really going to be that lowly on the set? scripty AND crafty!? ;)

Mark, I humbly accept the position. I will begin cracking down on things now, I will be prepared to handle the task when I hit LA. I will have many questions for Kevin and for you before I come out (but hey... it's why we're meeting in the midwest before january, right!?)

Gotta go to work, I'm so late!!!

With in camera sync, there is no need at all to have a TC slate other than perhaps they look so damn cool on set.

I have a color reference Don Earl and an insert slate. That should be all that would be needed!

Now if you want to by a TC slate and say donate it to the DP when the shoot is over, then I would whole heartedly recommend, no make that insist, on one!

Hey Kyle, have you ever script supervised before? If not, get some input from others who have, I've done it a few times, and have gotten some hints from other's who have as well... there's some simple yet effective methods and tips to stay real organized.

Kyle, I am obviously kidding about coffee runner but Script Supervisor is an invaluable position!

When I was an actor on a feature, the SS was da bomb! So much responsibility and power. (at least she put herself in the power-role.)

Seriously... this would be an incredible position. The SS works directly with the director and crew and ensuring the continuity of the story and set-ups.

Maybe I am wrong about this position as I am quite "green" still but we need someone who's sole job it is to watch the details!!!

Ted

Hey Ted,

I heard you guys were doing those risque San Francisco clubs tomorrow night. :) Can you post some of that BTS on the thread??????

A Script Supervisor's job is very important to the film. Congrats Kyle :)
Whew! I am glad that I was not incorrect. Just suck to have everyone thinking... "Ha, that Ted fell for that Script Supervisor biz.... what a dork! Man, we are going to run wild all over that set!"

damn... I think I just set myself up for a few one-liners. I better take cover! :violent5:

Oh, oh, oh! I have to take this opportunity and grab this post spot as we have just eclipsed the total number of posts on my I.D. thread. (thanks Blaine for pointing that out!)

Pretty damn amazing. I know it is all Mark's doing but I don't mind sitting side-saddle with da man!!!

BTW, what is the record for total posts???

Record for total posts... well, before my random conversations thread was destroyed, it had over 1100 posts I believe.

Hey Brandon, thanks for the work you are doing on the script with us. Some nice input you have there. 7 heads are better than 2! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) (that's 7 smilies, right?)

OMG!!! Have we got a BTS shot for all you crazy die-hards!!!

Not now... I have auditions to conduct, but afterwards.

Oh My God....

(sorry, I know that is a big fat teaser but I guarantee you will enjoy/envy it!!! :)

Men At Work

Men At Work

Well, just to prove that we have been soooooooooooo hard at work...

a little example!

Ahhhhhhhhh, pack up the truck and move to Beverly! (well, San Jose... :) )

I would like to say that we DID get a lot of work done once the camera session was over. Speaking of which... Kyle, we really could have used your assistance. Jumping in and out of the HOT TUB between pix was a real pain. Trying to keep the script dry and not spill my wine. Yikes! :)

more to come!
