"We Need Girlfriends" is a new online webseries by Ragtag Productions that chronicles the adventures of three recent college graduates struggling to understand the complex world of the New York City dating scene after all three are simultaneously dumped by their long-term college girlfriends. Think ENTOURAGE meets SEX AND THE CITY except they are not that cool and they don't get sex. With a dash of SEINFELD.

Hey that was pretty good! The camera was a bit shaky at times, but i felt the acting was generally great. They really pulled off their roles well. However a comment i have is that the first episode is too short. You didnt develope the characters enough for me to really care about them - you seemed to spend alot of time on the main character and the nerdish looking guy but the squirrel guy was a bit of an after thought. Thus when he left it wasn't nearly as impactful as it should have been....oh and he forgot his DVDs - lol. Anyway i have to say its a really good episode - just that it could have benefitted from more character development - and thats also something you have tonnes of time to work on since its a series so good luck for the rest of the episodes!

Hmmm... how's the view from up there?

Kidding, although as the viewer I'm going to think "knockoff american pie", with a dash of dorky "Friends". Maybe that view will change in later episode's?

I think Malcolm brought up some great points, so I won't even bother echoing his words... BUT, I did watch it all the way through, and think overall it was well done. Audio sounded pretty good, it flowed relatively smoothly, and acting was believeable. Good Job.

p.s. "Actually, there's a lot of male hollywood actors I'd have sex with." = Hilarious.

Who wouldn't want Scott Bakula?

Nice work. I agree with the others as well, but I wanted to ask about the the business plan behind all of this.

I think a lot of us have thought of the possibility of creating an entertainment website with webisodes. I am currently working on larryandgary.com and am trying raise funds from outside sources before I truly put any work into it. There's so much potential to reach people online if the content is great.

Anyway, I think it's a great idea, and I just wanted to know how you plan on making money after all this work. Is it going to be pay per download? advertising? commercials before episodes? merchandise?

Also, did you get investors to give you funds for the first episode? Or is this all out of your pocket? (lastly) if so, how did you go about the process of seeking investment?
again, nice work.

Thanks for all the comments and feedback. I agree with all of you that the episode was really short and possibly lacking some character. You'll definitely get more character as the season progresses.

As for the "business plan," well we don't have a business plan. We didn't make the series to make money. Not that we wouldn't like that, but that wasn't our goal. We are funding the project out of our own pockets, which isn't much at all really. We have a tight shooting schedule. We shoot 2 episodes a month, one weekend a month, which is basically an episode a day, averaging about 6.5 pages a day so far.

Right now we're just trying to build an audience and hope the audience sticks around and enjoys what we produce.

wow, that's an amazing schedule. You're gonna learn a ton, and have a great time doing it. Without a business plan, you've got not left but passion, which is the best business plan. Dominate it.
