Ok I updated vegas 7 to 7b but now when I try to capture dv video I just get dropped frames , like if I capture 250 frames 220 of them are dropped.
Anybody else have this problem or do I have to go back to 7a.

Check that it's not just your camera, there might be dust in the tape mechanism. And also, check your disk space, and exit all other applications and restart computer. :)

Ok I figured it out I was sending the footage to an external 250gig drive usb 2.0 so I just sent it to the internal drive but now I have a new problem I cant seem to cut the 8 and 10 gig files and paste them in the big 250gig drive.
Anybody have an idea why it just keeps saying I don't have enough room on the drive but there is 225gig left on the drive.

How is the external drive formatted? Make sure it's formatted to NTFS. If it's FAT32, your file size limit on that drive will be 4GB.

I believe David said that you can do it without losing any data, but it's never a bad idea to back your stuff up first.

Back to the first question why can't I save to the big drive when I start capturing video I just start loosing frames this never happened before?

Ok fixed the hard drive reformatted cut and paste works but I still have the dropped frames issue. Is this a XP SP2 issue?

Right click on on the drive and look for the format option and do it but save your data because it will be lost.

My problems are all fixed, when I installed SP2 I forgot to reinstall the drivers for the high speed USB controllers.
