Earopeans let's contact Panasonic !!!!!

We Europeans are always left out of special offers (especially the Dutch people). No free Barry Green book, no free bag and now no free 8Gb P2 Card. Moreover we pay the highest prices for Panasonic equipment compared to dollar related countries. So let Panasonic hear our voices and contact them and ask them what will we get?

I think it's different in every country.
In Spain, panasonic gived an instructional DVD (in spanish), bag and battery...
Also, they have a very nice website: www.hvx200.es with downloads (including the PDA software for the metadata, and scene files)...

I know that in a lot of countries there are different offers but here in The Netherlands and probably in some more countries we do not get any offer at all, just the highest sales prices !!!!!

In the Netherlands the price for the HVX only is 7134 euro incl tax which is about 9060 US dollars!!!!!!

ouch!! that's just crazy. twice the US price!

Hm,
got the free bag and battery from the online registration, thought of it to be a nice offer that came along with a camera just brandnew out on the market...
But I also wonder why stuff is always more expensive here and I believe it is because you still have to deal with different countries, languages, taxes, VATs aso...
Panasonic US just deals with one big country the size of a continent...
Also, if I buy the camera in eg Germany, I get 2 years of warranty with it by law, is it like this in the states?
BTW, the HVX excluding VAT (which you don´t pay if you have a business) is about 4.950 euros here...

i agree on some points.
i just don't get why panasonic (the big one), when they authorize their US representative to offer a free 8g P2 card, doesn't tell the others to do the same in europe, asia, etc (even at the high local price).
it's normal to have some price differences between countries, but we're talking about doubling the price (the hvx is the price equivalent of a computer for US customers but the equivalent of a car for us europeans sheeps).

I think Netherlands is one of the countries that is left out ...
No free bag, or battery during the "Europe countdown". Why was that?
No free HVX book or 8 Gig card either.

HVX is Euro 7.134 inc VAT, Euro 5.595 exc VAT . This is the normal price here. ( = $ 9063,-) VAT included.

You get the tax back but at the dealer you first have to pay it and he will not let you leave the store with the HVX if you did not pay the tax at least that is how it is in The Netherlands. So initially you have to have to full amount of money!!!! Even without tax the HVX is more expensive in The Netherlands.
