The scene's in the forest look awesome, good work!
thnx... just a bit lowdown on the making... where i live is a metropoliton city built on a desert.... so finding even a couple of trees was like finding oasis in a desert...

anyways after searching a lot we did find a make-shift forest, where we shot it..... there were hardly any trees there, but worked on the shots and composition of the frame to make it look dense....

i was aiming for the amazonian look, sadly we don't grow those type of trees where i live...

anyways thnx a lot for the positive feedback....

Well done mate... I've studied Diasporic films (Hindi Films and the issues surrounding the partition) and it's very common for diasporic films such as this where characters are in a constant search for "moral values" so well done in terms of concecpt!!! and Looks good mate.

Just have a couple of question on certain shots.

1. around 1:38minutes = after the crane shot - how did you do that shot? Pivot??? Looks fantastic mate!!!!

2. around 1:47-48minutes how did you establish that shot played with the shutter? If so what were the settings

my best,
Joey Dee

1. that is also a crane shot. To pull it off... the subject should be standing still. The crane is moved towards him horizontaly and the shot is zoomed out at nearly the same speed of the crane moving forward. which makes the background move while the subject remains steady in the shot.

2. hmm not sure what you are asking about that one. it was shot in the night with one light source....

thnx

and ya you are right about the concept. in our society its very important to show morally correct movies. even if we are showing a gangster as the main protagonist, near the end he will die, cause in our society gangster is always morally incorrect.... though 'Kaanch' dosen't touch on a gangster story, rather than on a person who has forgotten about his family and fighting some inner daemons....

hope it reaches what its trying to do...

Respect! That's awesome. One of the best DVX trailers I have seen. When can we see the movie? :-)

thnx... well i am trying to find a distributor.... as its a foreign language film its hard to find... do let me know if you guys know any who are into foreign films

Great work man, I'm impressed. Editing looked professional and the acting I give it a B.
GReat CC and music.

Thumbs up
George Villalba

That was a great trailer. I am currious as to what your scene file settings were. Also, did you use a 35mm adapter, if so, which one? How did you achieve the 16x9, was it squeze or with the panasonic converter?

i didn't use any adapters, dvx100a in its barebone form was used. The 16:9 was cropping on the edit. As for scene file settings, they changed according to the scenes and their requirements.

Hey Ksdude ..

It is a brilliant trailer and can't keep getting enough of it ...

That work of your is true inspiration to all of us here ..

Aapka kaam bahut badiya hai ....

I got a list of question for you ...

Did you use the Scene settings in the camera or were filters done from Premiere ..
What software did you use for creating the Titles ..
What software did you use for creating the posters (AMAZING !!!)

Thnx ..
Keep the good ..

thanks for liking the trailer

1. I didn't play around with the scene settings. Adobe PPro 1.5 was used for color correction (matrox rtx xtreme color correction was used)
2. The titles have been created in Adobe After Effects with the shine plug-in
3. The poster has been made in Photoshop

I use the Adobe family for my work, and I find it easy and very well integrated within each other to get my desired result...

Wow! That clip is amazing. I didn't understand the language but it just shows that you don't need a 35mm camera to be amazing. That trailer is so much better than a lot of the movies I have in my home collection!!!

That looks like a million dollar production and on premiere pro! That's what I use and most of my footage doesn't look as good as that!!
