External TV is acting really strange

So I hooked up my external TV through the TV output on my graphics card a few days ago. I worked like a charm until I switched it over to my DVX, just to calibrate the camera LCD. That worked too, but when I switched over to the computer output again, the image was grayscale! Now I just can't seem to get the colors back. It's not like it's 2 colors, it's just grayscale, there has to be a setting somewhere that did this. I've tried the simple TV menu with no luck, so I'm asking you. What am I supposed to do? I'm getting really frustrated here!:(

What model is the TV, and what is the video card? Also, disconnect the tv from the card and see what happens. If it works ok without the PC, reinstall the card.

Sounds like you are only viewing the Y (brightness) chennel of an S-video signal.

Check yoru connections, make sure the cables are pushed in all the way.
Also, where you using some special adpater cabel before to convert the (probably) S-video output of yoru PC to the (probabaly) Composite input of the TV? Or Perhaps you are using a different input on the TV now?

One fast last one to try right off: If your TV has Both S-video and Composite inputs next to each other, the following might have happend: You unplugged the Composite from the graphics card and plugged in the DVX into the S-video. you then unplugged the S-video cable from teh camera end and plugged the Composite cabel back into the TV. This could lead to the TV detecting a S-video cable and looking for a S-video signal and therefore only displaying the Composite input as B&W. Try unplugging the S-video cable from the TV is this is the case.

Well, I don't know anything about all these tv input things, but my TV only has one input, and that's that really big (scart?) thing. Anyways, I unplugged everything, spanked the TV a little, plugged it in again, and it worked like a charm :D

Thanks for the help guys.

oh right, you are in Norway. yeah, SCART sucks.

You probably had the imput selected to "input 2s" instead of "input 2" or somethgin similar.

Or more probabaly just a loose SCART conector.

- Mikko ... Hates SCART.
