my Heart Is Vain - a cut 2 the chase production (VersuS & Deneb79)

Here I am as well...

As John said earlier, we had a meeting last night and discussed about all the essential thing regarding this movie.

(He just messaged me that a new version of the script is ready to be read and discussed :thumbup:).

I am happy because we have started working on our organisational flaws that have haunted our filmmaking attempts since the beginning. Yes, we will get anxious, I have no doubt about that, I just want to know that everything goes along with our timeline and, for the first time, not start feeling pressure as the deadline comes closer.

Regarding our story, I think this will be told in a very straightforward way, with not so much "poetic" writing. We have a lot of filming locations and the fact that I will be moving to a new apartment very soon really helps because we are going to have empty rooms to decorate as we like... :)

I just hope we will find a good actress for the main part because it will be really demanding and will give a great feeling to the overall movie. As I read the script I knew that there are scenes that a single look or some good acting would make the differences. I believe that drama movies are about 50% story and 50% acting...

So, let the producing/directing/acting/fun begins once again and I would like to thank everyone who did or will check out this thread and share their thoughts... :dankk2:
 
We have decided to make a little contest. Here is the deal.


Four of you, I say again, FOUR (4) of you will get the chance to star in our little movie ‘my Heart Is Vain’.

How? At some points in the movie there will be a close up shot of a poster. The poster is about a concert that is to take place in Athens. The band? THE DVXUSERS. The faces of the band on the poster? YOURS!

We need a maximum number of 4 faces to put there, but we can do with 3, 2 or 1 according to how the contest goes. That is, if only 1 or 2 or 3 people get the right answer, we just do the poster with them. But 4 is the maximum, the first 4 who answer correctly.

What to do? You have 2 weeks, that is by the 15th of November (WEDNESDAY) this contest will be ON. All you have to do is SEND ME A PRIVATE MESSAGE, I REPEAT, A PRIVATE MESSAGE, with the answer to this question:

‘WHAT IS THE HIDDEN MEANING OF THE TITLE OF THIS MOVIE?’

If in 1 week we only have 1 or 2 winners, I will post a hint to make life easier on you on the 8th (one week from now).

On the 16th I will reveal the names of the winners who will be careful not to disclose their correct answer to anyone on this forum.
The winners then will be asked to email us with a photo of a close-up of them, we don’t care if you wear a hat, glasses, fake beard, a thong on your head or whatever. We just need a GOOD QUALITY, highest possible, of a closeup AND the name under which you want to appear. The band will have a name but we can put each person’s name on the poster as well.

So. To revise:

a)Deadline is the 15th of November
b)Question: “What is the hidden meaning of the title of this movie?”
c)Be extremely discreet with your answers!
d)Good luck to you all!

Script is 90% finished!

I started passing it along to people I want to cast and hope that by the 15th I will have completed my cast.

Still not sure how long this will be though....need to do a small reading session soon...
 
Oh! And we already have one lucky winner. Spot#1 on the poster is filled. Guess we'll make him the singer then.

Little? Little??? 100 actors, 20 locations, 2000cg fx used, 1.000.000 cookies laying around....you think this is a 'little' project?

I actually meant little in terms of time frame. 6 minutes to be precise. I dug what you did for horror fest in case I didn't mention it before... :)

UPDATE


The role of Erica's dad has been given to Barouir Aivazian who played (again) a fatherly figure in the Door Between.

The VO for Peter will be done by Stratos Filalithis (deneb79).

Waiting confirmation for 3 more parts and still negotiating about the lead.
 
I am very optimistic about this one. At least I can hope that we will make something the right way, with proper pre-production, proper shooting planning, proper acting.....
 
It's great been demoted from leading actor to the Voice of Peter... Actually I really don't mind at all because for once we want to have something new in our films: a trivial thing called: ACTING!

Thanks everyone for their concern and remember that you can win a few seconds of glory if you enter our nice little contest... (It's easy come on... only a little bit of fantasy needed here)
 
UPDATE

Ok, as I said earlier, the parts of the Analyst and the Doctor are officially closed.

Stathis Christoforidis will play Erica's therapist (or analyst), and his wife Eva Roumelioti will give voice to the Doctor character.

Stathis is a well-known radio producer here in Greece and I really wanted him for this part so yeah!
 
Just wanted to remind people of the contest we're running. Think it's a shame to make this band a one-man show for.......Ramjet!

Yes, Ramjet has so far answered correctly!
