Ramjet Films presents "Re-Birth"

Nice updates, Jason.

A word of advice to a person about to go in front of and behind the camera at the same time.... DON'T DO IT!!!!!!! :)

Nah... do it. Have fun! Good Luck!

I hope you had a good B-day!

Guerilla style baby. NAh, really, I just gotta do with what I have :)

I'm about to change the title, the look and the poster. Again. For the last time :)

Jason

Okelie Dokelie...
This is the new title and the real poster. I promise this time.
Updates are on the first post, as always.

Hope you like it
Jason

Well, I am MIA for the next long while, you'll be glad to know.
Gotta take a trip to the lawyers office. Working on the wifey's immigration stuff so she can legally work in this country. She has a freaking accounting degree and is smart as hell, but not allowed to work here... YET, damnit.

The poster is a work in progress, but the new title is the new title.

Later,
Nosaj

Welp, went to the lawyer. Gave 800 dollars to the government for the immigration stuff. Hopefuly all that goes well.

Anyways, I have added a brief synopsis of plot/story outline.
I have changed the poster, yet again. And added a journal entry describing a bit where I am headed.
I hope you will find the time to check it out, and please leave feedback. The poster, is killing me. I think I am getting closer, but I am not a graphic designer. Feedback on that as well, would be appreciated.

Also, check out the books I bought today for the dvxuser festival and beyond.
"How to Write a Movie in 21 Days" - which was recommended by Barry in an old thread that was recently re-vived. I saw it, so I thought I would check it out.
"Rebel without a Crew" - The title seemed appropriate for what I am doing here, so I picked it up. Turns out it is by Robert Rodriguez, Director of "El Mariachi" and "Once upon a Time in Mexico". It is filled with his journal entries from idea phase, to landing a big hollywood agent and theatrical release, for the movie "El Mariachi". Which he made for 7,000 bucks. Looks interesting. I'll keep you up to date on the books if you are interested.

I like the "The New for real, for real poster" (That would be the one with the smoke and the eyes) poster the best so far, eerie.

I have read both books and they should provide all the inspiration you need. Just be careful if you decide to donate your body to science like rodriguez did. :)

Since my film doesn't have a budget, I think I will be ok, on this particular endeavor. :) Although, I do have to pay off the loan for all this equipment. What are they offering for plasma these days?

Thanks for the input. I'm glad you at least realized it was smoke tuttle :) That counts for something for my non-graphic design skills, right? :)

Thanks,
Nosaj

hey man that second guy looks CRAZY because the gun is tilted inward... awesome stuff!! -- did you have a good birthday?
-kyle

Hey Kyle,
That second guy IS crazy! Just kidding.

Yeah, my birthday was ok. Just another day, though the wife was especially nice to me :)

Jason

Nah, he is cool. People do seem intimidated by him for some reason though.... :) We're both pretty introverted and intense people, which I am hoping translates well into the roles for the film.

I have been married just a little over a year. We were married on September 10th of last year. Then our dog had 8 puppies that night, then died of stomach cancer. Yeah. I never thought I'd be married, and especially with a kid, but it really has been awesome for the most part. No horror stories. She keeps me in check, so I don't waste my potential as much as I used to :) We're just 2 poor folks trying to make it. Which is a great testament to her... before she came to the states for her master's degree, she had her own personal driver and all that. Labor is super cheap in Indonesia. Now, we can't even pay our bills :) YET

Anyways, Updated the first post with some ramblings, if anyone wants to read. In orange.

Update sounds good, I hope to be able to work through my script like that, it'll probably just be me and my brother reading it over and over and over.

What do you mean by technical stuff? Maybe you can post what your trying to do and we can give you some ideas/help.

As far as technical stuff... pretty much everything. I come from a Theatre acting background, with limited technical exposure. I am brand new to these cameras. I have worked at a radio station for the last 6 years, so sound editing should be ok, but capturing good sound is another matter. So, yeah... pretty much everything technical will be a big hurdle for me to try to overcome :) I am sure I will be doing much searching, as well as posting of more specific questions in the months to come. But, right now, I am still at the phase of trying not to get so much noise in broad daylight with my footage :) And just learning what all of the different settings of the camera can do.

Well, I had a breakthrough or two on the storyline last night and how it all unfolds. I really think it will help the completeness of the flick. As opposed to being largely a persons memory of events, (great for a play, not so great for a movie) I am looking at 3 stories happening at different times (simultaneously on screen) that all coalesce(is that spelled right?), and fulfill a unified dramatic thru line.

Details on this to come, when I get off work later this morning.
