Are P2 and FS100 compressions different?

Focus FS100 data: DVCPRO HD: 4:2:2, 8-bit, 6.7:1 compression, 100 Mb/s...

Do P2 cards compress 6.7:1 as well?
Is the DVCPro compression always 6.7:1?
Is the Varicam DVCPro compression from cameras with 2/3 chips (e.g. HDC27F)
6.7:1 as well?

What does this ratio mean?
Digital Betacam has a 2:1 compression...

Data is compressed in the camera, not on tape or disk or memorycard. So the full frame data is compressed in camera and than written, it is the same on the Focus or on tape or the P2.

DVCPRO is a SD version with 50 Mbit/sec and with compression of 3,3:1
DVCPRO is a HD version with 100 Mbit/sec and with compression of 6,8:1

The ratio means that the raw data is compressed with that number, 2:1 means that the compressed file, is in size half of the original, but maintains visible the same quality. Digibeta is SD and compatible with DVCPRO50.

So the compression -done in camera- has nothing to do with 2/3" chips.

Yes, visually it is comparable to Digibeta (my English - not compatible). DVCPRO50 as acquisition format gives you very good results. Digibeta is less compressed (and 10-bit luma/chroma not 8 bit), but in SD you won't notice the difference.
