I'm totally with PK.
I have untill Sunday to shoot something before I head out on the road for a week without internet. And not a single good idea for any setups.

It must be catching. :) But I'm on the lookout...

***IMPORTANT UPDATE***

Due to more than several requests I am extending the deadline until Sunday... So Sunday November 5th at 11:59PM. No more extensions though.

The voting ballot will have categories based on original image, final image, post production technique, and finally... Overall submission...
I have a question about the scoring.

Is the overall submission score an average of the first 3 scores?

I have a photo that I like a lot, but I have done very little post production work to it (I don't think it needs that much). I hope it will score well in the image categories, but I don't think it will do that well in the post production technique section.

If the overall score is an average, then I think I need to choose a photo that will really benefit from some post production work.

Chris

Also,
Are we to re-size the RAW / Original camera images?

At a good 8Mpix, camera orginals are going to be huge files to up and download.

That is the way it has always been.
but after people comment usually the picture owner responds.

I feel funny judging peoples photoshop prowess.
And still dont totally understand the judging like CMessineo

Why dont we only show the after image. After the winner is announced then show the before. Otherwise it seems like you have to give extra points for photoshop tricks. I'm sure some people have used photoshop or other programs for over 10 years, and others never heard of it. it may be an additional handicap.

As Jeremy has stated, each category is an individual scoring category.
Then why is there an overall submission score?

Also, which catgeory are the prizes based on?

I don't mind whatever the answer is, I'm just confused on how it is running. Also, if photoshop is important to the overall score, then I will use a different photo.

Wow, a straight from the camera raw image from my camera is going to be HUGE! To upload AND to view...:)

Hey Chris don't panic, let's wait for his replies when he shows up. I'm just guessing the winning category would be the overall? Really don't know.

The original files will be uploaded and the admins will resize them for the contest.

Regarding the scoring, the overall is not a weighted average but more of a seperate vote. We are giving people the opportunity to vote on the original image as well as the post production technique and finally the final image. The vote on the final image can be influenced by what people see that you started with which may help or hurt, but ultimately it will prove to be a learning curve and learning experience for others.

Personally I expect a RAW image to most likely prove to be the winner but I have been wrong as some of the Photoshop gods on this board have blown me away with their post processing techniques.

There are four voting categories.

I hope this answers everyone's questions, if not... let me know.
