The song is about the kingdom of God. The little boy you see in grab 4 represents the kingdom. He leads the singer through the doorframe which transports her into the city. The singer follows the boy through the city performing the song as the boy leads others back through the door into a feild wich represents freedom. When the boy pases through the door he turns into this ball of energy. This effect may look too Christian cheesey so I may not use itin the end. I bought a bunch of over sized clothes rom the thrift store and dressed 5 kids in them. I took the same clothes into Seattle the next couple days and shot gorilla style with bums. I'd find a decrepid old black lady for the little black girl, a gnarly looking old white guy for the little white boy etc.

The second grab is a lady named Angel. The little boy runs past Angel in the alley laughing as he disappears into the door. She is curious and follows him into the door. She is transported from the city to the field as a child. Now a little girl she takes off the big hat and oversize sweater which represents all the baggage and responsibilities we have as adults. The little girl runs into the field to play withthe other kids.

The final video which is almost done will have a color treatment turning the city into a gritty dirty sad place and the field into a warm welcoming place. I have spent a lot of time working on cc on this oneso itshould come out pretty nice.

this was all shot with dvx? a or b? looks great!

DVX100A, but it really doesn't matter what model bididdy. It's all about planning and the story. You see the DOF in the last 2 grabs? No 35mm adapter used here. You just have to spend a lot of time shooting and learning how to use your camera. If you think these look good wait till you see footage in the field.

I like the colors you pulled off in the footage. Was that original footage or was that the CC version?

Also....what kind of dolly setup do you have going?

Thanks Kevin and imageon,

About 50% of the footage in the short video has been cced already. I'll label the grabs I have posted with original or cc so you can tell.

The dolly is 100% home grown DIY. It'll hold 1200lb according to the tire rating. You can only use the rubber tires on extremely flat smooth ground, but it works well on any surface for transpoting equipment. I have also installed 32 skateboard wheels on the bottom with 64 barrings. The track is just 1 3/8" galvanized fence pipe from home depot for $8.50 for a 10' peice. I have 20' but I plan on having 100' of track soon. The only downside is you have to keep them in 10' sections to take advantage of the female to male connection each pipe has to slide one end into the other. The deck is made from 2x6 hemlock and the dolly is only 24" wide so it will fit through any door. I am working on some slide on aditions for each side to extend out another 2' total for a 4' wide deck to use a crane on the dolly. To hold the track in place I just took some 2x4's for the base and some 1/2" plywood to hold the pipe in a channel. I used curb tape from home depot for a nonslip surface under the pipe on the base and I cut some wedges out of the remaining 2x4 scrap for raising and lowering the poles to level. I'll be posting a whole thread on this down the road after I get another digital camera.
