my first short...('and it's SPECTACULAR!")

Can you fill us in about this CRAZY AMBITIOUS PROJECT!?!?!

I read your story; you're nuts. But it looks like you did it and had the resources.

Did you end up shooting on 35mm or what?

Please, divulge. Great trailer, by the way.

kewl nice one, thank you for sharing :o) the last words are from my favourite film too :o)

nuts? nuts like what? why nuts? why crazy ambitious? what have I done that is crazy?

yes, I shot in 35mm (Cinemascope! with the SAME PHYSICAL LENSES Vittorio Storaro brought with him in the Philippines to shot "Apocalypse Now", who would have thought. yes, very old equipment.)

glad you like the trailer. what do you wanna know?

The works. And crazy ambitious and nuts were both compliments. Your backstory and about me were both really interesting reads. Congrats on the finished product and let us all know when we can see the entire ten minute cut.

I went over there for vacation and I thought..."mmh. nice. quick, give me a camera!"

LOL Are you serious?

The trailer looks really good. It reminds me of a Ridley Scott movie.

hey, I know you were being nice. I guess my funny tone didn't come through.

days of shooting: 4

locations: 7 (7!)

days of post in Rome: 1 processing, 1 telecine+timing, 1 digitizing, 2 cutting, 1 transfer to onother drive. Then back to LA for sound: 3 days cut, 1 day ADR, 1 day mix.

I'm so glad you guys find this good. believe me, the entire short it's way better.

are you in LA?

wow this looks great! for any standard. knowing that its your first short is even better! I could totally see this in the cinema

Holy cow, that looks awesome. And you know it's good when no one's complaining about it not being shot on a DVX or HVX! :)

Beautiful. The images look fantastic.
My hat's off to you. What was your budget on this thing?

Brilliant way to tell this story, through the eyes of James. Gives it a real new perspective.
Does the short go to the point in James' life when he became one of the most fervent believers and supporters of his brother (following the events of the resurrection)?

In fact, James' 180 has always, in my mind, been one of the strongest arguments in favor of the resurrection as a physical event in real time and space.

Again, beautiful work.
I look forward to seeing it.

wow..

not really sure what to say. It looks like im watching a preview for a feature film im going to be seeing at the movie theatre....

if you can do that, dont really know what to suggest. I wouldnt change anything, but i sure would want to make my stuff look more like what u did.

Was looking for the " Dvx100b " part, got my hopes oup :P But i had a feeling that footage could never come from a pana digi.

Absolutly great!
This could easely be a big budget full lengt movie playing in the cinema's! (at least, the trailer could easelly suggest that, i have not seen the short movie, so i cannot comment on that) The trailer looks... GREAT!

Did you have directing experience before this?

WOW!!! That was fantastic. I definitely want to see the finished film, when will it be available?

I have watched it several times, it is so beautiful. I love films set in that time period/location. I have a couple films I would like to one day shoot set in that time period / locale...now I know who to contact when I am ready :)

Fantastic work...looking forward to the finished project, and to seeing what you do next.

Larry R took the words right out of my mouth... "WOW!!!"

That is a beautifully shot piece of work you have there! And the post work is gorgeous! Nice job! I am very impressed!

Looking forward to the entire short and hopefully full cut!

Keep up the great work and congrats on following your passion.

One little note... something that bothered me were the apostrophes in the titling. They were level with the text. Perhaps a choice. I know that it is a silly detail, but it caught my eye and bothered me. (just picky)

But stunning work!!!

Ted
