Scary moment at the beach - 60p footage

Another in a growing number of stupid and pointless whacky sketches for my show wrapped this past weekend at Cocoa Beach here in Florida. Was quite a fun shoot and should be an interesting parady.. all except for this horrifying footage which sent me into a giant panic as you'll be able to understand. I'll have the finished piece together by next week. I have been pretty busy shooting so not much time for suring fon here. I've got 8 sketches in the can and plan on having another 20 by Christmas...

actually it's pretty close to Patricks Airforce Base... less than a few clicks I believe... It was run and gun. I didn't put up the reflectors.. and we shot it all in a couple of hours without really obstructing too much of the beach traffic...
 
those black burkas are so sexy...
was this the first shot? the burkas are dry.... dont tell me you brought changes
did you damage the hvx with the sprinkles of sea water?
where are going to distribute the sketches, tv, dvd, internet?

what impresses me is that the shot is so steady while moving along with the runners. I don't see tire tracks on the sand... how was the camera supported? was it on the end of a long boom?
 
Thanks all. This was actually the the beginning of the last series of shots. We did all of the dry birkah shots first and then did a series in the water.. but we were not pushing our welcome so we did this all guerilla quick as lighting way. I'm going to be compositing a lot of stuff with some background images I'm gathering..

I think the HVX is okay. Time will tell but I did another shoot so I'm thinking it's cool...

I'm producing, directing, shooting, writing and editing this piece. Don't it for nothing pretty much and planning on marketing online an setting up some screenings. Going to have a pilot in a few months.

I did think of Chariotts of Fire and I might have to put it in there as a goof. That is a good idea. The other one I was thinking was that flight of the valkyre(sp) from Apocolypse Now....


It was the simple zoom on a tripod. I did try some handheld stuff but didn't look right. We were completely out in the open so no dolly permitted on this shoot. I'm going to be staging some stuff where I'd like to have some tracking shots and other stuff..

yes.. I know it. Still a ton of toys and accessories to get for this. Cam seems fine though... knock on wood. I've got 3 new sketches ready to launch... just finding the time to cut them, and the harddrive space... 1080 really gobbles it up quickly...

How's ya feature coming along?

My girlfriend has been to Kuwait a few times and she said that women there actually go swimming dressed in full garb - Not all women, but most..
 
Certainly a far cry from thongs and body paint... Apparantly these were even the "comfortable" birkas... if there is such a thing. I'm trying to find the time to cut something together....
