Our New Horror film is finally out Nationwide!

Hi guys, just wanted to share my news and happiness with ya'll. Our new DVX100 Horror movie is out now at Hollywood Video, Movie Gallery and Netflix. SAN FRANPSYCHO was shot on the original DVX100 with an anamorphic lens. We shot on location in San Francisco. 99% of the movie is at night. So if you want to see how good the DVX does with natural city lights check out our film. It stars Horror genre veteran Joe Estevez, cult favorite Todd Bridges and B-movie star Jose Rosete. Check out the trailer at:

I would appreciate if any of ya'll add it to your netflix or Blockbuster online. I will also take any constructive critisism or questions. Thank you:) JQ.

Oh, sorry, I meant to ask: I'm going to be shooting at a football game in the next couple of weeks. How do you think the DVXB will do under stadium lights? I'm sure the football field will be fine, but what about the bleachers?

Bill

I think the bleachers will be fine. As long as you don't aim directly at the light source it should look great. Thanks for your reply.

Couple a qustions

Couple a qustions

I had a few questions after watching the trailer:

Did you shoot 24p Advanced?

Did you do a color correct and what did you do it in

What was your audio setup? Mixer, boom, straight to camera?

What has been your approach to distribution - and if you don't mind sharing, what has worked / not worked as far as publicity and distribution

Many thanks in advance

PS the poster artwork was very high calibre

I had a few questions after watching the trailer:

Did you shoot 24p Advanced? Just 24p

Did you do a color correct and what did you do it in? No Color Correction. What you see was exactly what we shot.

What was your audio setup? Mixer, boom, straight to camera? Mic, boom pole attached to XLR.

What has been your approach to distribution - and if you don't mind sharing, what has worked / not worked as far as publicity and distribution? Connections is what has helped us out, just meeting various people and having a website for our product. What works for us is mainstream stuff. Nothing too artsy. Action, horror, etc would be good.

Many thanks in advance

PS the poster artwork was very high calibre
THANKS!

Congrats! Looks very good. I'm hoping the DVD is available here in the Las Vegas area. I'll check the local rental places for it.

As asked before, any technical info would be helpful as well.

Good luck.

Our Distributor is Image. They're a good company. Known for mostly sell through lifestyle and concert videos. As far as the tech stuff, I think I pretty much said everything we used. The original DVX100 not A or B. We used the anamorphic lense and it makes ALL the difference. Used available lighting for MOST shots. The nights scenes look so much like film because of the softness and graininess. A lot of people think it was HD 24p. I laugh inside and keep my mouth shut. The DVX is definitely one bad ass camera. We also used the Fig Rig stabilizer but I don't know if I'd reccomend it. Their sales promo video looks good and makes it look like a very useful tool to have, but, I think it's a bit shaky and handheld looking. If I'd do it over again, I'd like to use the poor man's steadycam.

I found "SAN FRANPSYCO" at Hollywood Video. I'm having some friends over on
Tuesday to view it. We're all looking forward to checking it out.
