SONY Z1 rocks guerrilla film

I just want to take a moment to heap a little praise on the SONY ZI...My film "The Craving Heart" was a guerrilla feature shot for only $8,000...it is a SAG feature too so if you don't count the wages, it was shot for around 3...pretty much the camera, a tripod, ninja and me most of the time...

I thought to bring it up here is for the newbs asking about the value of HDV...even if I show this in it's Proxy file (DV) state, it is a huge improvment on my previous film shot with a VX2000...main reason being that given the extremely limited lighting situation, the HDV gives much better results...when you push the gamma or image you don't lose as much of the picture quality because there is so much more initial information...basically what I am saying is that I love the camera and even if I was going to make a regular DV movie, I would still shoot HDV...

Next Friday week my film will show at Mann's Chinese at 9:15pm...I am pleased that the fest has also recognized the film by honoring us with 9 nominations...incase anyoone in LA wants to see it I have posted the links to the fest and trailer...

Best,
Stan Harrington

I always have black stretch on...I had the camera on P4...everything was set to manual and I had the LCD screen a little lo so as to have a slightly under exposed result...I had never worked with the camera before so I wasn't that familiar with it...went mostly by eye and also tried to go as tele as I could to manipulate the depth of field to get more of a cinematic look...

I am pretty much a newbie myself so i hope that answers some...
