Varied High Definition video clips taken around Fort Lauderdale, Florida... shot in 720p/24p. All of these clips were shot tethered to an iBook 1.2GHz with an internal 4200rpm HD.

Please seed to a 1:1 ratio after receiving the complete file. .. that way everyone can receive the file in a timely manner.

Any chance of a smaller compressed file? I don't use BitTorrent and 352 meg file is pretty big for allot of people.
 
Unfortunately no... I am testing out bittorrent distribution for a future show in HD. That show will be at least 2GB per episode. Currently the swarm speed on the 352.4mb clip is 94.7 kB/s... jump in now and you will have a fast download rate.
 
What settings are you using for the QT file? That's nearly 2MB/sec, which is probably overkill.
 
I exported it using FCP quicktime conversion... compressor=high, Data Rate=Automatic, compression type H.264... size = 1280x720HD. Size wise I've seen HD trailers on Apple's site going around the same file size and less than a minute.

I don't know about the rest of the world, but I'm not going to wait more than one hour to download three minutes of video. I think you will need to come up with a different strategy.

(It´s cool you offer a high res version of your stuff, but I´d prefer a first look in broadband quality to start with...;o) )

My strategy is that more people seed/peer on to the torrent that way the transfer rates can be faster. A part of testing out this torrent is getting responses just like what has been posted on this thread. I was more curious about the transfer rates though. I will come up with a organizational superseeding strategy. Recruit my friends into helping me seed some of this stuff.

You definitely need more seeders for distributing this kind of stuff. It took a great deal of time to download it. As for your video, the quality is very good but you are making sudden movements and sudden zooms. In some scenes you are moving too much with the camcorder. You may want to use a little bit of crossfade between your scenes.

Hey thanks for downloading the torrent... please help me seed it to a 1:1 ratio. I was testing alot of stuff that day... those shots were from the first/second day testing with the camera. Most scenes were on a tripod... but you are right I was zooming/panning to capture things of interest. This video is mainly to highlight the quality of the camera to people that are interested in it. Visual quality was the aim. For my demo reel that I'll use on my website... I will add music, transition filters and be more selective with the clips. Still busy trying to get some good timelapses and do more shoots around South Florida. I will be in South Beach, Miami this week getting some good stuff. I'll torrent a more polished sampler in 2 weeks.

I've upgraded my internet connection to 768kbps upload. If anyone was having slow downloads before please try again. With 96kBps upload and a few seeders... the swarm should be way above 100kBps. Please report you average seeds. I'm testing out bittorrent to see its viable to distribute my future HD clips and also for an HD show.
