help preview out to external monitior ???

im using vegas 6 and im trying to preview out to external monitor but it not working , know i went to display setting on window s and i put the second monitor as a extended display setting, vegas regonizes it cause when i pressed the identify setting it showed green 1 on primary and green on my seconday but when i press prieview obn vegas nothing shows it just stay showing my desk top picture on the secondary monitor it never plays ny preview , im lost any help be greatly appreciated please help

What are trying to do -- preview to an external monitor, or use Secondary Windows Display?

What option did you choose under Preferences>Preview Device?
 
stretched across two monitors , one shows vegas the 2nd just show my desktop picture, but i see how i can stretch vegas and extended to 2 monitors half it being one the other hal on the other but i want the preview to kick out to the secondary monitor displayhow do i do this David ?????

You have to preview using a 1394 device. Plug your camera in via firewire and then put an A/V cable out into your desired TV dispaly. Then, click the external display switch in the video preview window.

This is how you do it if you just want a video preview from vegas, but if you want the actual comp. screen your doing it right.
 
but how do i get to display the preview display on my secondary monitor just the preview ????????????
 
sounds like you just want to 'undock' the preview window and drag it to the other monitor? if thats the case, look at your preview window, on the left hand side you will see about 6 vertical dots - click and drag that to undock the window, then drag to your other monitor.

thanx bennis know I know so how to i kick out a preview then i know throught fire wire is there another way besides the camera ????????, im wondering if i buy a dvd recorder that rcords fire wire if i can then feed it into it then kick the signal out to the tv the same time ????????
 
your all wrong got my preview to kick out onto my old pc monitor just fine so i get hole preview with out draging vegas to the other side
 
yea thanx david , some people i see dont know it alot people talked about draagging vegas 2 the screen and only fire wire out therough the cam to the tv from the camera, alot said u can go out to ur secondary monitor seems alot vegas people dont know whats up and what down , got my preview out on my nice old 19 inch monitor :)
