Pissed off badass, loaded gun...

2 minutes??? man, that has totally got to be your connection. i mean, its a best quality 8mb h.264 file and i've viewed it from several different internet connections... each began playing immediately.

anyone else having this problem?

might be my connection, but only when im connecting to you :) just tried it again and still takes a while.

ur right though, 8 megs is fine, but my 1:40 reel is 8 megs. Your 20 sec clip could be even smaller and still look great.

and again great clip, love the look and the gun shot.

Yeah, I just copped out and used a white color matte and inserted it for one frame. Any advice for the smoke? I think the color matte actually did a pretty decent job for the flash.

that sound effect sounded like someone clapping two chalk erasers.
the white flash does not cut it.
as said, you need smoke.

the gunshot sound was real, and felt real, at least to me. as for the white flash... i know. what would you do? also for the smoke?

Maybe something as simple as quick insert after the shot, where you have a lit cigarette hidden inside the barrel? What are you using for the pistol anyways? It wasn't an airsoft...

Excellent idea about the cigarette I will definitely have to try that. awesome...

also, about the gun. that is definitely an airsoft gun, i just pulled the orange plastic out of the tip. it looks real, no? =)

They will have muzzle flashes, it is just too brief to really notice. However, the people watching will expect it. It helps to show them those details to fully immerse them in your manufactured reality.

Sounds impressive anyways ;)

Careful doing that stuff... Folks with badges and real guns tend to have a dim view on that...

i'd never do that... so if i call the cops, i'm supposed to just say "I'm filming ______ at the corner of _____ and _____ and we will be using fake guns in case anyone calls"?

Better go look at some more movies with muzzle flashes. It doesn't look real at all. Sound was wrong also, go back to your drawing board. You only really need smoke if you stay with the gun after the gunshot. All sorts of places offer muzzle flashes. Detonation films is one of them.

i think the best gunshots come from a good muzzle flash, smoke and a spent shell, (detonationfilms.com). as for the white frame, you might consider trying a brightened frame, as opposed to a solid white one. you could play with the contrast in the brightened frame too. just my take on the subject.

good luck! let me know how it works out!
