Noa/Rice Digital Presents: "Into the Darkness"

Hey ya'll sorry I've been gone and not able to reply to a lot of these comments, or post reviews of films, it's been a hectic week! I'll get more reviews to ya'll this weekend, thanks!

Hey B-Man, thanks for the shout-out. Good luck tomorrow. It's a nail-biter all around with a lot of really cool films. But I've had a TON of fun in this festival. It's been such a great community experience.

Hey Brandon, I just want to say a VERY SPECIAL "thank you" to you.

You have been an amazing asset on this forum in so many ways.

I know that I could have completed my film without you and your help, but I am glad that I didn't have to!

You have provided so much to me!

Congratulations on your film and Best to you!

This has been a blast!

Ted

Took a bit to find this thread ... looks like folks are posting in both, so hopefully you're catching all the feedback.

Just finally getting the time to copy the notes I compiled in a Word doc while watching the shorts:

Great VFX by Steve! Really strong score by Herman as well, though I may not be as huge a fan of that style music, or more specifically I’m not convinced it felt right for this piece, but it’s just an opinion. The camera work was strong, and I really dug the CC that was used to show this dark & desaturated place that the ball rolled in towards. As far as story goes, it’s right up there with our film, REM … there’s little to no story at all. I know Brandon wanted to enter just to get something in the door while he’s working on the much larger SMUGGLER’S RANSOM, and I understand where he’s coming from. And like our film, the story/script will obviously suffer from not having more time & thought put into it, etc. That said, it still out performed a large portion of films on here with regards to overall production value, and is quite solid in its own right. Oh, and killer opening credits with the smoke, etc. … it rocked!
