Ballot Deadline - Reminder

Do you think you guys could release the overall standings for everyone? I know I'd like to know exactly where I placed in the whole scheme of things.
 
Kyle, I'm in no way shape or form ashamed of my work; I'm proud and happy with it for what it is...a last minute entry whipped up, shot and edited in 3 days.

I also know that many people did much better than me. Rekindled, Meat, Halfway, Welcome, Reunion (a little weak story wise, but so pretty looking), come to mind.

When I submitted it, I actually thought I would place. You guys have schooled me and I'm eagerly awaiting next fest.

Cause I'm gonna school ya'll .:D

I just emailed my ballot. Rekindled got the top mark which was a 9.0 overall.
Sticken came second with a 8.5 but its an NC, however I want Matt to know.
So with Stricken out of contest, 2nd place in my ballot went to Reunion with a 8.3 and Bloody Mary shares 3rd place with Broken circle with an 8.2. ID and Halfway share 4th place with 8.0. Ok I'll stop.
 
I watched broken circle 3 times to see if maybe i missed something seeing how people like it and all, and each time i actually noticed more and more i didnt think was good about it. On my ballot its actually a 3.8
 
that's why we're just people and not robots nic, coz we see differently, we judge differently and we feel differently
 
What I liked in Rekindled and Broken Circle and some other films that probably didnt score high, is the story and how their creators went a different path.
I've seen some really great pieces, very well produces but they had a 'stereotyped' story, something that if was made into a big production would be a very enjoyable film, I would definitely love it but it would not stick in my heart and probably would only see it again just to relax and feel good, yep that's the word I was looking for, FEEL GOOD....

However Rekindled and Broken Circle and CFWB9 are stories that intrigue me enormously. These are stories that have great depth to be explored if you are an explorer of course. It's GREAT to make a movie that technically stands out and captures the viewer for as long as it lasts. But I've seen thousands of movies that have the above. I have seen but a hundred though that make the cut creatively and mentally. I want my mind to feel a certain rush and a challenge in order to say 'this is one of the best experiences I've had'.

I am really glad that Jack did this and that my no1 is there. Jack would score high no matter what coz he did the best production overall IMHO. I couldnt but give the marks I gave to him. But knowing that his piece lifted me mentally and emotionally gives me even greater satisfaction. (That applies to the rest movies that I said have the same impact on me like Broken Circle).

I appreciate the info John...to be ranked up there with JDS blows me away. I am humbled and happy. :)
 
I've decided that I'm gonna go through and rate all the films so that I can get the ballot in on time and then once I'm done scoring all of them I'm going to go back and write my reviews, instead of watching it and then writing the review.

Yeah, I watch it once, then I go back through and look for specific things when I do my review, and while every film is different, there are a lot of critiques that can be similar for each film, so I try to make sure that I don't just write the same thing for each one. But of course there are everyday distractions, and as much as I wish, I don't have the time to sit down and watch 20 films and write 20 reviews in one go. But I do wanna get through them all and give everyone a review.
 
Can't believe people are almost done voting . Didn't we have longer in the other FEST? . Man am I struggling here ..just no time to watch , write and vote .
