amazing 60p fisheye skate footage

i WISH i shot this. this is once again Ty evans of girl/chocolate skateboards work, with the century death lens (not the Xtreme $3,000 one though)

that footage was shot with the new extreme fisheye lens and retails for something close to $3,000. footage looks great with that too.

beautiful! crazy that a lense costs the same as my camera ( the dvx ) -- but its the way it is...

would have KILLED to see all this with a 35mm adapter. beautiful as is, though. fantastic!

question: were you using a stabilizer and running to get those great shots?

I've done my fair share of skateboard filming and tracking shots are all done following on a skateboard. It's definatly not easy and a skill all of it's own.

ha ha ha ha..... he never shot this doods, Ty Evans shot it. As for the shadow thing, it doesn't matter, its a skate vid, if you've seen any other footage in the world of skate videos you can see the filmers in half of the shots.... its about the tricks man. Soooo stoked to see this footage finally. Check www.sharetheair.com as well. Ty and Meza both shot some spot on the hvx for this skate vid contest.... soooo hype.

gots to get me one of them fisheyes

haha, I like how people use the fact its a "skate video" an excuse to make stuff suck. This didnt suck...not at all...but the comment about the shadow...wow....if it was just about the tricks ty evans wouldnt be ty evans...and people wouldnt spend money on 3ccd cameras or hd cameras...or anything for that matter.....stuff would be shot on 1ccd cameras by skaters....its not just about the tricks...although alot of skateboard videos are filmd that way....and sometimes hard to watch....I think 90% of skateboarders would say "Yeah Right" was the best video ever made....and it deffinetly wasnt just because of the tricks.

It was good though...I think ty is probably just getting used to shooting in 16:9 as he cropped people in the frame badly in a few places. but it looked nice. Im sure no stabilizer was used....slow motion kills alot of the shake problems, but i did see some tracking shots, might have just put the camera on a skateboard though...or skateboards plus tripod works too...and to who ever asked how the slowmotion was done.....its an hvx....it shoots at up to 60 frames per second....played back at 24 or 30 frames per second....= slow motion.

ha ha ha ha... who said that you can assume you can make it suck, just the nature of shooting skate videos are real run and gun, and you don't have the time for lighting set ups, and in this case, where you see shadows, can't change the angle because its a follow shot, and the most important thing to get is the trick. Ty Evans is who he is because of the tricks, if he was filming your brother skate no one would know him.... he knows how to shoot them to make them look good, hes consistent, and amazing all around.

ha, you can avoid getting your own shadow in the shot....have the guy do the line in a diffrent direction...shoot from the side...etc. My point is you shouldnt use the fact its a "skate video" as an excuse for stuff like that. it may be run and gun to some extent but you can still try your best to aviod problems like that.

I think you should re-watch Globe's "opinion" video and check for shadows. It does make a difference.
