"Bloody Mary: A nightmare Collaboration by Mark Harris and Timur Civan"

Great work guys. Creepy as hell. Well written story. Lighting, framing, movement, colors, etc. were all spot on. It really had a very different look and came together beautifully.

Mark and Timur, really great work. The script is so tight, and I really love the element of angst at the end. Love the shot with the three girls near the beginning, and that beautiful white, wispy shot of the mother and daughter hand-in-hand. Of course, I'll never be able to go into Steve2Bee's bathroom again -- thanks a lot for that. ;)

damn! McKenna? wow.

My friend Chris was the story doctor guy who also wrote a pretty famous book on Story Structure called "Writer's Journey." McKenna's best friend, actually. But yeah, McKenna at Columbia.

i'm starting to wear down on reviewing and I need a break.
I loved this one despite maybe a few directional, audio, editing issues.
So here's my review!

... end review.

Dude, I was talking to Jack Stanley the other night over beers about a Spoof fest, where each filmmaker gives his film to another filmmaker to do like a Mystery Science Theater 3000 thing to it, like the pic you posted. I doubt a lot of people would go for it, but it would be fun.

I hear you about the reviews. I am SOOOOO burned out right now, and have SOOO many to review and some more to watch a second time or third time. Yours included - watched once, haven't been back yet for second "critique" pass. I won't be turning in my ballot till like the LAST day, I'm sure.

No worries, thanks for watching.

Hey Mark, I just finished watching again and didn't realise I was watching the older version. I just watched the final and I tell ya, this joint is great. The music cues kick major as$. I felt creeped out throughout. The tension it built never let up. I still think the art direction is really good along with the lighting because the white walls to me are never plain looking and never pull my eye off the subject. I love that little look in the mirror she gives before she blows the candle out for the first time. Reminded me of the scene we did where Adina laughs at Taina for doing the Ouija thing. The disbelief and then the reality changin their thoughts. I love it. I did a second pass for lighting and you guys did a great job with the pools of light even on the bigger walls that shown and the half in and half out on the faces. That looked great. Like I said before about the knife scene where she lifts it slowly. I still think it should have been lifted on an a different angle because of the door frame cutting through the frame vertically. I thought the knife should contrast that and come up maybe sideways bringing more visual tension into the frame. The story felt complete and was never taken out by any acting or technical glitches. The only thing I missed the first time around was that she was drawing the same amblet that her mom wore but when I saw it the second time around I dug the tie in. Like what MsManhattan said, that shot with the 3 girls leaning into the frame was awsome and very well timed. I was surprised to read that someone didn't get that he was her step dad but then it dawned on me that maybe that person or persons live in a small town where interacial and step dads are not the norm.
Great job, I love it and can't wait to see it on the big screen.

I wouldnt like spoof fest, thats something I wouldnt put on a reel and would use that time for something creative.

I thought he looked like a professor! and the bike clinched it! I'm sure his students were rolling in the aisles at his role in MH2. oh wow. how cool would it be to have him as a prof.

Dave teaches a horror class, a war class, a pitch class, a structure class, and now an Eastwood class. I'm goig to the premier of "Saving Private Clyde" with him at the Ziegfeld Thurs night. :)

Hey Mark, you mentioned something on the Black Angel thread and I started to leave a message there but didn't want to jack thier thread.

Is it possible to view any of your previous films?

Thanks, Ted

Cool! Thanks! I did see Man-hole 4. THAT was great!!!

So, you're telling me that your previous work is not to great and then you stumbled onto Bloody Mary? Wow! Good job.

Maybe I can stumble there in the future!
