I just recieved from Panasonic Switzerland a 60-pages book called

"The P2 Camcorder AG-HVX200 from A to Z"

(The ultimate guide about the unique AG-HVX200)

The book is downloadable in German on Panasonic.de (the German site) and I'm not sure, but it might be new... ?! ....

Before, there was only a 16 pages brochure free for download. The book is still NOT on Panasonic.com neither on Panasonic.ch, but as mentioned on Panasonic.de.

It's worth recieving it as book as it's a good print quality!

I hope I didn't miss that anybody has already introduced this book...

Hey 'T' I looked up the german version and you are right the quality is very good, You should take a look at the english version... the quality isn't up to scratch.

You're lucky.

Yeah, I just compared the two versions, the images in the German version are far more detailed. That explains why the German PDF is four times the size, too.

I was talking about the printed book when I spoke of quality... ;) Panasonic distributes these 60 pages on paper and THAT's worth getting ordered. In Switzerland, ordering this booklet is possible and free and so should it be hopefully in any country....

The pictures explanation of interlaced vs. progressive on page 8 and 9 of the PDF (especially the paraglider and the dollar bill) just are not good enough to display the exact image difference while on the printed version it looks like the difference i/p really looks.

I just like paper. Brochures or booklets... I collect them for about 20 years now (home-entertainement and photography) - it's a far better feeling to hold a clean, sharp brochure in the hand than to scroll down a PDF...

I agree that printed booklets are the way to go especially when trying to convince clients that this technology is the way to go. I am currently engaged with a producer that just can't get his head around the P2 work flow. what makes matter worse is the editors he uses are still on ancient versions of Avid (Mac OS9 versions). I find myself having to go out of my way to get P2 transferred to tape so his editors can work with it. A printed booklet would be very valuable in helping those who find the P2 work flow difficult to figure out.

There is a brochure only about the P2-system.... ;)

It's called

"P2 special" - "Digital Networks and P2, Networks integration and workflow productivity"

But it's so old (January 2005) that I wonder whether it's still actual..... e.g. the mention about Pinnacle that is not Pinnacle anymore, but integrated in Avid now...

And certain details about the workflow seem to be solved differently today...

Just get that P2-brochure and check for yourself whether it helps or not.

I'm so happy that the national Swiss channel (it's the first 2 channels of Switzerland) uses the P2 workflow! :) Panasonic was "greasing" them a little with some cheap or free HVXs, but the most important is that P2 found the way to the most important swiss channel.
